Every Dark Shadow by Sarah Zimm
4.0
This book took me longer to get through than usual and I think because going into it I expected a fast fun fantasy read. Do not expect this. This book has plenty of world-building and slow build-up to any of the main plots. I did really enjoy the story as we followed Ophelia on her journey to discover who she is as she builds new relationships with people who she has known for years that she just can't remember and finds her true self on a mission to save a kingdom.
Sign of the Slayer by Sharina Harris

Sign of the Slayer was a fun and intriguing Modern day Buffy story. Our Main Character Raven (Texas) seems to have one tragic experience after another leading her up to accessing and realizing her powers as a Vampire slayer. Throughout the book we get to follow along as she struggles through personal issues and coping with her losses along with trying to adjust to her new life in the American Slayer Society and the dangers and complications that go along with it. She is hot headed and opinionated and while she annoyed me severely she also grasped my attention and I became quite attached to her growth throughout the book. Her relationships in the book were complicated and messy which I enjoyed but I felt like the book rushed through a few of the acceptance phases which made it a little hard to believe that she just accepts this world she knew nothing about without taking the time to be in denial. All in all I had a blast with this book and was hooked to the story and the characters we got to meet throughout it.
A Highland Rogue to Ruin by E. Elizabeth Watson, E. Elizabeth Watson

I flew through this book in just a few hours. It's fast-paced and had really well-written characters that jumped off the page. While I did think our couple did fall for each other very fast, I really enjoyed their chemistry and their relationship. I loved uncovering all of the secrets and lies along with Tormund and Brighed and seeing them go from instant chemistry to falling in love.

Like the beginning of all Fantasy Series, this was a little long to get into with all the introductions and world-building but even with that, this story had me hooked. The world was built perfectly and the characters were easy to love and hate and forgive all at the same time I feel like they were beautifully written and very relateable while still being fantasy. I do think this series has the potential to be a 5-star favorite of mine and I can not wait for the next book to come out now that the world is set I cant wait to be invested in the plot and see where our characters take us next.
Some Kind of Blunderful by Livy Hart

This book was just the right amount of Forced Proximity along with a little dislike to love. I was so hooked I read through this book within 2 days. I loved loved loved our FMC and the MMC and their dynamic had me giggling and anxious to see where this book was going to take me and I was not disappointed at all. Livy Hart had me loving this story from the smallest character to the biggest, and every story point in between we really got a solid reluctant found family that just made this story work so well.
Wicked, Cruel Things: The Realm of Kahnan by Emma Lynn Ellis

I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this book and let me just say I am amazed and absolutely loved it. This book took just a little bit of time for me to get into but it was never boring. It keeps you wondering what will happen next and where the story is actually going constantly that by the time you get to the actual "plot" or main story line you are already hooked and in love with all the characters. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and do look forward to anything else this author decides to write.
Two Twisted Crowns by Rachel Gillig

5 Freaking stars. This book had me in a choke hold from the very beginning. The way this book was written made it so easy to disappear into the world and be one with the characters. I loved the way this book was told from multiple POVs so we got to follow the story from all its points rather than just one. Rachel Gillig put magic into this book in such a new and exciting way that kept you guessing and gripping your seat but also wanting laugh and cry and scream at our characters. I will never stop recommending this series it has become one of my favorites and I was so blessed to get to read it.

Thank you Entangled and Net Galley for the ARC of this book.
This was a cute book. I was a bit through it before I realized I missed a whole book before it though It was labeled as a stand alone in the series so it wasn't to hard to follow along. I enjoyed the story and the characters made me laugh. It did take me a bit to get use to the whole world saving but make it less serious since this is a rom-com but I didn't mind it all to much. over all Christi Barth wrote a great story and relatable characters and I would recommend this book.
