An Angel for the Devil by Jessa Kane

I don't really have all that much to say about this one. The FMC is 18 but she read way younger in how naive she comes across. I'm sorry but there's no way she was that clueless when it comes to sex. This is a problematic romance for so many reasons, but I couldn't stop reading it.

What can I say about this erotic door romance? There was basically no point in this being labeled as a romance with a door because yes while this person does start out being a door he's immediately turned into a human but her having sex with the doorknob. From that point on he's a man and you wouldn't know it was a door romance if she wasn't saying that's my good door to the human man. I think I could have enjoyed this more had it not been about a freaking door. I went into this one fully expecting not to like it but everyone was talking about it and I had to know what all the fuss was about.

I've been wanting to read something by this author for a while now and when this short story was available through February Amazon First Reads, I snatched it up. This was a short and quick read with no steam and while it deals with having a stalker, I thought this was a cute romance. You know that this is building up to a confrontation in the end and the buildup was great, but I was left a little underwhelmed with the actual confrontation in the end. It just happened so fast and so easily it felt kind of rushed. Other than that, though I loved everything else and will definitely be picking up more books by this author.

Destiny and I buddy read the first book in the series together so when I got this from Libby, I asked her if she wanted to buddy read this one with me and she said yes. We both loved My Roommate Is a Vampire so much, so I went into this one expecting to love it as well. I did end up really enjoying this one just not as much as the first one. Something was missing in this book, and I can't even tell you what that was. I loved the banter and the romance. I even loved the characters both together and separately. I would totally read more in this series if the author wrote more.

I thought this one was cute. I wasn't the biggest fan and how the FMC treated the MMC at times but overall, this was a fun forced proximity enemies to lovers read with some fun banter and some steam thrown in.

This book was recommended to me when I was looking for prompts to fulfil some prompts for the Romcom Swoonathon. I hadn't heard of this one before and it's my first book by this author. I've only read a handful of cozy mysteries at this point, and I've only liked one series so far. I thought this was ok. It's cute and a very quick and easy read. I liked the inclusion of Vampires as well, but everything was just too easy, and Lucy literally doesn't really do any real investigation, but she still finds out who the killer was. I didn't hate this, but I don't think I will continue on in the series only because I just don't care enough to.

I think this is my favorite book in this series so far. Nadya was born missing an arm and the moms first question is basically what's wrong with her? I'm a double amputee myself so when I saw the mother's question, I was worried I was about to read a book where it was going to be just negative things but then in the next sentence the nurse says nothing is wrong with her, she is perfect as she is. I love that we get both sides. There are unfortunately people out there who look at people like me and think we aren't normal, or something is wrong with us etc. but there's is nothing wrong with us. Just because we look different doesn't mean we are any different to the rest of the world we just might have to go about things in different ways. My only complaint about this book is going to be a little spoilery so if you haven't read this yet then skip this next part. When Nadya goes to the other world she eventually is gifted an arm from the river, and I can't decide how I feel about that because it's not realistic which I'm aware these worlds aren't real, but it comes off as she has to have this other arm to be able to do this particular thing or get herself out of this particular scrape etc. I would have preferred her to have been left like she was and for her to be able to overcome whatever obstacle despite missing an arm. Also, that ending is heartbreaking.

This is the 2nd book I've read by this author and my only complaint is how over the top and unbelievable they are, but they are also fun quick steamy reads. I knew going into her books that they were going to be OTT reads. Even though I can't look past that I still think her books are fun reads and easy to pick up and read in one sitting and you will enjoy your time reading them, but they won't blow you away.
Act Your Age, Eve Brown by Talia Hibbert

I hadn't planned on reading this book this month but as soon as I finished Take a Hint, Dani Brown I immediately wanted to jump into this one and since it fit one of the Romcom Swoonathon prompts there was no reason not to read it. I've loved all of the books in this trilogy, but I'm torn between Dani and Eve's story being my favorite. Once again there's so much diverse representation that I feel the author does well. I loved the romance in this one and the enemies to friends to lovers' aspect was perfect. Honestly everything about this series as a whole is perfect and I'm sad it's now over.

I'm so glad that the Romcom Swoonathon got me to read this book because I loved it so much. We get the fake dating trope and it's a slow burn with a lot of angst. I loved the character growth for each of the characters and the banter was on point. There's so much representation in this book as well and I feel like the author did it all justice. Also, I can't forget to mention that we get some steamy scenes as well which we all know I love at this point.
