**Spoiler** This is another YA book that I like the concept, but I was less than impressed with the execution. Also, when are we going to get away from the new girl heroine that is lonely and misunderstood? People, we can write better character development! I will read the sequel because this one sets up the sequel very well. I had no idea what this book was about when I read it....you'd think my smart little brain would have figured it out by the title; oh, well. My theological side came out a bit with the idea of fallen angels (Gen. 5) and that, although, most of these "angels" are in fact demons, there are probably some on earth that want to be right with God again, or at least aren't as "evil" as the rest.

The first book in the trilogy was much better than this one. The characters were not as effective in this book. It didn't stir as much emotion this time around. I'm still interested in reading the next book since the character's plots overlap.

Whoa, this book is LONG! I felt that there was a lack of revision in this, and found some parts boring. I would say the Percy Jackson series is better than this series; however, I'm wiling to read the next installment to see how it plays out.....I hope it's not as long as the first.

I learned a lot about our government from this book. It was quite fascinating to see how the world initially reacted to Hitler. Specifically, the number of people in the State Department who supported the Nazi movement. It really made me think about the role of government in foreign affairs - particularly, when is it appropriate to interfere.

I wasn't impressed with this one either. The first book in the series was much more captivating. Miranda had so much character development in the first book, but really nothing in this book. I felt like the plot moved too quickly because her dad and Alex and them didn't show up until too late in the book. Again, I really like the premise, but this wasn't executed very well.
