I'm Sorry, Daddy by May Alder
Did not finish book.
Did not finish book.
I read The Milk Man and decided to check out May Alder’s other novellas. I will be reading the other novellas, but I got about 4 pages in and the FMC’s name is my mom’s name and I couldn’t handle it/ignore the name
The Milk Man by May Alder, B. Sobjakken
3.5
Dude idk, don’t ask questions 😂
I will say I enjoyed this more than I expected to. B Sobjakken does quick, super spicy novellas well so I’ve read pretty much everything of hers that’s on KU and had a fun time so I obviously picked this one up. Can’t say these niche shminks do anything for me, but this was fun nonetheless. This was my first time reading May Alder though so I’ll have to check out their other works.
Highlights:
- Romance: MF
- Spicy novella
- Insta-love
- Cam girl x dairy farmer
- Small town
- Lactation shmink
- Breeding
- Hucow elements
- 🐓 warming
The Season of Secrets by Q.B. Tyler
4.0
Update: did an audio re-read and loved the performance by Jason Clarke and Vanessa Moyen. Jason Clarke is one of my favorite narrators so I went in with high hopes and they both definitely delivered. This is duet narration which is another huge plus for me.
If QB Tyler writes it, I’m going to read it. She writes forbidden spice like no other.
That being said, this was a bit longer than I expected. It was teased as a novella, so I was expecting more in the 150ish page range so it felt a little drawn out. However, still very hot
Highlights:
- Romance: MF
- Age gap
- Billionaire romance
- Workplace romance
- Pierced
- Daddy
- Mile high club
- Spanking
Note: I received an arc from GoodGirlsPR and the author. Decision to read/review was my own. Opinion is my own.

A Reign of Rose by Kate Golden
I would’ve really loved to get a bit more about Aleksander and Hart. They were such interesting characters that play a pretty decent role in this one, and I know the focus should be on Arwen and the main group, but I wish we got a bit more on those two.
While this is a solid debut trilogy, I think the courts and some of the rulers needed to be expanded upon a bit in this. Rose and its Queen are discussed as being fierce and sort of feared because of this, but we don’t really get much on them until this final book. Also throughout the series I just don’t understand how Onyx functions as a kingdom when it doesn’t seem that Kane is actively there ruling much?? Idk, I enjoyed this and do recommend, but I hope Golden dives a little deeper into world building as she grows and evolves as an author.

This is an incredibly bingeable romantasy trilogy, and trust me you’ll want to binge them all after books 1 & 2’s cliffhangers… Arwen is a badass and honestly the MCs are forces to be reckoned with, both together and apart. I think the overall plot is compelling and certainly kept me on my toes throughout.
My main complaint with this book was the pacing. The beginning was action packed and honestly stressful, as was the ending, but the book lulled a bit in the middle.
Thank you Berkley and Penguin Random House for gifting me a paperback of A Reign of Rose. Decision to read/review was my own. Opinion is my own.
Series Highlights:

A Dawn of Onyx by Kate Golden

Book 1 in the Sacred Stones trilogy. This is angsty, the tension and chemistry between characters is solid, however I need a little bit more from the world building. That being said, I’m definitely continuing on and starting book 2 immediatelyyyy after that ending.
Highlights:
- Romantasy: MF
- Slow burn
- Enemies-to-lovers
- She’s being held captive
- Who did this to you
- Dragons, witches, fae
- Court politics
The Marriage Hex by Sarah Blue
5.0
The perfect cozy, spooky season read 👏🏼 the overall story was great, I loved both Silas and Violet, and honestly the Halloween vibes were perfect without being over the top. I loved that Violet’s friendship with Iris and Ember was also important, and not just her relationship with Silas or figuring everything out with the coven and pack.
Also I’m not a cat person, but I want to be friends with Walter 😂
Highlights:
- Romance: MF
- Paranormal romance
- Slow burn
- (Accidentally) forced marriage
- Witch x wolf shifter
- Knotting
- MCs in their 30s
- Friends-to-enemies-to-lovers
Thank you to Fated Promos for the advance copy. Decision to read/review was my own. Opinion is my own.
Steel My Heart by Nellie Wilson
5.0
As an AuDHD girlie who grew up in a tiny rural town (honestly it would make Anthracite Springs look massive), who is still close with a few of the friends I’ve had since I was 8, who says “pop”, and will forever have a bit of a Yinzer accent, this book really hit home for me. I grew up on cheap beer, back roads, driving 20+ minutes to get groceries, and have family members who have worked in the mills.
Nellie Wilson did such an amazing job of capturing the nostalgia of coming back home, the heart and grit of the blue collar town atmosphere, as well as that desire so many of us have had to leave our hometown and maybe never look back.
I loved seeing Kelly and Sam find their way back to each other as adults alongside Kelly finding that sense of community that Sam has been fighting so hard for.
P.S. it’s definitely “pop”, not “soda.” Fight me.
Highlights:
- Romance: MF
- Second Chance romance
- ADHD/Autism visibility
- Small town romance (in Appalachia)
- Falling in love with your hometown
- Slow burn
