This was just okay. Read it bc it was viral and a lot of the bookstagrammers I follow were posting about it. I prefer a more emotional story. This was just fast and lacking in depth for my taste.

This book is profound. It is a deep as you allow it to be. I found it somewhat predictable and a younger, more teen level of reading but still a beautiful and meaningful story. I personally empathized with some of Eddie’s childhood stories so it was emotional and touching for me at times.

This book was great with three big twists. But the biggest one IMO I could see coming. Overall great read but it didn’t pick up until about 150-200 pages. The last 150 was the “can’t put it down” section.

This was a quick and easy read. Like all “first books” in a series, the spicy parts are like 200+ pages in but it was a quick journey to get there. I agree that this is somewhat Twilight meets Beauty and the Beast but there is a lot more dimension to it, I think. The climax is long and drawn out and in some ways predictable. This author does a great job to get to the point of describing things and laying the background down.

Pretty good for the “scenes” you read this kind of book for but the plot was confusing in ways and never really concluded.

The plot line was much better than Corrupt. Not as difficult to follow and not as open ended. I still find this author difficult to follow at times. Like one minute Kai is waking up with Banks and then all of the sudden someone pulls a gun and Michael stops him but where did Michael come from if they were just sleeping a minute ago? Small holes like that bother me but might not bother others. The spice was a 2/5 for me. Nothing noteworthy until 300 pages and while I enjoy a good cat and mouse towards a slow burn, this was kind of like writing to hear yourself write. Nothing was happening. Struggled to get through it but did grow attached to the characters. Not sure if I will finish this series. I just came off of the ACOTAR high and this book just didn’t hit.

Feels like it was super fast paced but detrimentally so. Could have been longer or broken into two books. Good story line

Love this authors writing style. Love this cute little story. The slow burn romance gets me every time

This was book was a little difficult for me to get thru. I didn’t not like it but it was just all over the place IMO and hard to follow. I haven’t read the other books for Dark Hunter so that could be why but it was just so scattered I’m not sure I like this author’s style enough to read them. It changed POVs sometimes mid paragraph and I was constantly try to figure out who’s head I was in. Some of the smut was mixed in with thoughts of their family members being murdered mid-thrust. Super weird. I love romantasy novels and that was the only thing that got me thru. I wanted to love this book so much but the story line was just so strangely told.

This was a slow start but and obviously beautiful story and wonderfully written. The ending was incredibly profound for me. I love how it all wrapped up other than how she passed at the end. Her life was so short and so miserable and she died so young. That was bittersweet for me for sure.
