after seeing Dune Part two, it literally made me want to read the book(s) and I did it. Very dense but I think it’s solid. I don’t see myself rereading this often so I give it a 4

it sucks cause I wanted to like this but it wasn’t for me. For such an interesting premise, the execution was poor. The pacing was so off and the writing style I could not adjust to (my eyes were practically glazing over during several chapters)

and why was there an entire basketball arc ?

I really wanted to like this more than I did but it was just ok. 

I like how it discusses topics concerning less overt forms of racism (micro aggressions, white savior complexes) 

the synopsis is what hooked me into reading this but all of that happens within the first chapter and the rest of the story is the aftermath so, not what I was
