START + Prolouge Thoughts
||Starting the book, I had to remember who is who again. This happens with me when I often read different books before I continue book 2 etc. I have to look at my other notes I had taken from the first book so my brain can catch up. Jude - Main character. Tryan the sister that everyone hates. Including me. Okey I got confused by the prologue of the story itself. ||

Up to 50 Pages
|| Cardan moments is just ✨️ 10/10.
I am also quite curious who the person was in the Tower of Forgotten and how does she know who her mother was or what sorts of secrets she knows about her. I hope Jude instigates this. I also wanting to see the romance blood between Cardan and Jude I know it all enemies to lovers trope in this book, and now we got an assassin on our hands. ||

Locke's motivations pique my interest. I'm curious who is plotting against Jude. I also want a really good scene between Cardan and Jude, something spectacular that will blow my mind. But I also want to know when a year and a day will expire and what will happen when that day arrives. I still don't like Jude's sister.

Up to 200 Pages
The story is slowly picking up, yet I feel the pace is going a little bit too much. I still love Cardan and Jude moments. I am quite surprised with Jude character in this book from the first book. It feels like either Jude character developed a little bit. Also I am shocked we got to meet Cardan mother, and how much she knows about things. I wonder if the reveals more then she knows.
Omg Locke just f off and leave. No one wants you here. I keep thinking he is going to f something up or is either plotting something. We both know that Cardan is evil and such but seeing his past and they way he was treated makes me sad.
I also keep comparing Locke with the Norse Myths Loki, there names are quite similar and both are mischievous.

Page 144 :malAquaScream: :a_nii_happy_f2u: Their I hate you means I love you I bet.

Once more Jude is a badass for surviving that and acting like its nothing at all even if the pain is killing her from the inside.

Fucking Locke I knew he was up to no good! GHOST!!!! WHYYYYYY Jude acting skill are just supar, that she is even fooling a mer queen who is immortal and lived longer then she ever did.

☽ ˚•̩̩͙ WHAT DID I FEEL WHEN I FINISHED THE BOOK? ☽ ˚•̩̩͙
When I ended the book, I was in pure shock. I really did not think that Cardan would do that in the end. Alto I am still questioning about Cradan Mother and what does she know about Jude mother in the first place, and honestly I cannot wait to read the 3rd book of this instalment with the rest of the buddy readers.

Prologue and up to Chapter 3
Starting this book its giving me major Marilyn Monroe vibes. I am already falling in love with the characters, and at first I was like wait this is not the perspective of Evelyn Hugo but I think and hoping it will gradually go towards her perspective.

Up to 50 Pages
I keep picturing Evelyn Hugo like Cruella DeVille somehow. Also I am seeing a lot of what indoors Hollywood used to do back in the day. Not everything in Hollywood's was sunshine and daises, there was a deeper dark side to it that I am seeing in this book that I am kind of glad that the author looked in depth in this.

Up to 100 Pages Thoughts:
I am really invested in Evelyn Hugo life and story it is so entertaining and interesting, yet quite shocking at how manipulative she can be to get whatever she wants, or in other words quite cunning. I keep thinking that Celia in one way or another she would end up plotting something against Evelyn, even if she is her best friend.

Chapter 19:|| Okey I regret saying what I half said before.||

Up to 200 Pages Thoughts

|| I am shocked that Don ended up cheated on her, but in that point it kind of gave her the diction to leave him. Alto she should have left his ass along time ago. I also love how Evelyn is exploring what her sexuality is and all so love how she has an open mind. Even at that time a lot of people where quite homophobic in those years.||

|| You did not just kiss the tv screen and ended up chipping a tooth XD ||

Page 171: || This is the cutest thing I had read so far in this story. Its really adorable how Evelyn protect her lover. Also the way she said things do really do impact in everyday life and sociality, that it still occurs to this day and age which is shocking. ||

|| I apologize with the way I am currently reading in huge chunks of this book. I am trying my best to input my thoughts here and there, when I read a certain page and stop but often times I keep reading and forgetting where I am until I start to think and recall everything I had so far read. ||
|| Nooooo whyyy, alto it was already hinted preciously by the present Evelyn that something had happened between them. Yet I am so emersed in the book itself that I forgot in a moment that this was set in the past of Evelyn. ||

Up to 300 Pages + Final Thoughts

The death of Harry was a real shocking one and one that I did not really aspect to see in this book. Poor Evelyn for being heartbroken that her best friend has died. Yet, going back awhile when Evelyn was asked who is your greatest love or who did you love most. I think equally she both loved Celia and Harry as equally. For they were there half way from the start, and from their prospective knew her well, but I still had a feeling she still hid some aspects of herself from them, and never showed her truest self to them.

No not her daughter! noooo!

Chapter 65: Umm What?

The scene where she is taking her last photo near the patio and then you turn to look back at the cover of the book itself and connect the dots…

Jesus. H.Christ This novel began so wonderfully and was so delightful, but at the conclusion, all I can see is a jack hammer smashing its way through my heart and making me cry. Past me had also stated that she wasn't sure if she had read anything from Taylor Jenkins Reid. She had lied. She finished Malibu Rising and added Daisy Jones & The Six to her TBR list.
End thought :Ending Thought: The book concluded with such satisfaction that I am very satisfied with the ending and how everything wove together in the end.
Star Rating a pure 5.5

Little Thoughts
Finally I had the chance to tackle this book down, due that it has been in my to be rea pile since last year. I do not think I have a lot to say about this book itself. However, from what I had taken notice and learning this year is my reading taste had really changed from last year to this year. I think if I had read it sonner then had putted it off I would have enjoyed it more.

First time reading about this author.

Exerting into the story it feels intresting and captivating with the way it written. Also i am trying to read it all this morning before work actually starts. The way this short story is written feel like a poem as you read it. Also that poor little girl who they shoved in the closet that was mean. The ending of the story made me miss the rain and the gloomy weather that brings with it. Also I feel very sad for Margot, who wasn't able to see the sun. 10/10

I am not going to even put anything in this review.
This book deserves a 1 star, but due that I read it I am giving it a 2 and enjoyed some parts of the book itself but overly it was boring and I dread the day a book 2 comes out of this.
