A gentle story of people gradually coming together to face their fears by restoring a shared garden that was once a hub of the community.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 23%.
I couldn't connect with the style of writing or the slow pace. I don't know if this was down to the translation or it being poorly written

I enjoy catching up with the exploits of Elizabeth, Joyce, Ron and Ibrahim. It's like meeting old friends.
Once again the story is a perfect blend of murder, humour, wry observations and friendship.
Elizabeth and Stephen's relationship and then coping with Stephen's deteriorating health due to dementia is handled sensitively.
A very enjoyable read.

Unfortunately for me, not as gripping as Elly Griffiths's other books.
The theatre element of the story was interesting but the pace was too slow.

Really disappointed in this. After so many positive reviews, I was expecting so much more. I found myself skimming the book in order to finish it.

August 27th, 1983 is the day of Nina Riva's annual end-of-summer party. Everyone wants to be there to catch a glimpse of Nina and her three siblings as well as the rich and famous.
This was a great read - told over the space of the day of the party and flashbacks of the events that helped to shape the four siblings' lives- sending the reader on a roller-coaster ride.
