The Nix by Nathan Hill
5.0
This was easily one of the best books I read in 2017, and I dare say maybe ever. It was smart, intriguing, and fit no specific genre which I found to be delightful. You’re taken back decades, through different countries, moving easily between many male and female narratives and points of view, and all the while keeping your eyes glued to every word. Nathan Hill skyrocketed to one of my favorite authors so I can only hope and pray and beg he writes another soon!
The Alice Network by Kate Quinn

I’ve never been a big fan of historical fiction but this book blew all preconceived notions out of the water. The characters are so well written and so deep that you can’t help love them for all of their inherent flaws. This is the only Kate Quinn book I’ve read but will happily explore more of her novels!
