In this Western Asian-inspired fantasy, the heroine has been wronged and is out for revenge against everyone who wronged her... but at what cost? This story has been told before, but this one has some fun twists. The main character is a little frustrating, but I think readers will still enjoy the story here as it differs from others on the market.

Loved this book. It is about life after a cult, which is rarely tackled in middle-grade fiction. I loved the mother's character and flaws, as did the marvelous Babs. The audio was delightful.
