Just wasn't for me...I thought it would be my usual paranormal fare, but luckily at least saw someone mention in a review below that it wasn't and was about mental illness...so at least I wasn't going in blind. But unfortunately, I tend to really empathize with characters I read, and that's not as much fun when you're reading about someone going through something...well...crazy. So really, the 2 stars reflects my personal tastes more than the quality of the book...
Marry Me, Maddie by Rita Herron

Meh... It wasn't terrible, but it just dragged on and on, and I didn't always buy the chemistry between Chase and Maddie. *shrugs*

Cute little book.... There were plenty of times when from one chapter to the next a lot would have happened....personally not my favourite. Especially since they felt like important things....but that's just a taste thing.

OK, I HATE cliffhangers, and this was a doozy... It was hard to understand how crappy Mac was in the beginning....I mean, I love seeing characters grow, but she really was dislikable at the beginning. Not the first character like this I've run across, and in the end I liked her growth enough to let it go....but it really does get hard to sympathize with characters like that.
Now Ty...yeah, that was yummy. Good chemistry between the two. Only had a half a second where I contemplated the actual end result, so it came as a shock...kind of nice actually. Would love to see more of Caleb in the next book -- hurry please!!

Probably more of a 4.5 stars, but heck I stayed up late enough to only get 3 hours of sleep last night just to finish it, so what does that tell you?? Enjoyed the unique take on the mythos (or for me it was unique). Also sincerely enjoyed that the mystery was maintained until the end of the book....not that I didn't have my suspicions, but it was different to have them not revealed within the first few chapters. The chemistry between Lucas and Alexis was sometimes not as convincing...it just seemed to happen so fast, and I wasn't always convinced that that was warranted...hence the docking of half a star. Maybe if I thought about it hard enough I would go down to 4 stars, but I'm going with my gut b/c it's not always about the little things but the overall feel when you finish a book...and I really wish the second book was written, so I call that a job well done.

On the fence...I loved the way Will felt about Cassie, but Cassie just made me tired and cranky.... Her behavior was so inexplicable, and even though there was a bit of an explanation near the end, she still struggled to behave... So yeah, unsure how I feel....

OK, that totally blew my mind. I've been reading lots of YA/paranormal/romance novels lately, and while I love them there is a very vague formula to them...just with little twists and turns each way. I thought JL was a woman, and thus was expecting...well, something more expected. I finished this and just sat for a while. Much more adult, much more horror like almost.... In some ways it was nice that I didn't love Seth right away, and Jenny sometimes made me cringe...but really they were victims of their circumstances I guess. And I did care for them... So weird...was not what I usually read, but I still thoroughly enjoyed myself. Will definitely check out the rest if not too expensive...

Totally wasn't what I had expected....ended up being a lot less steamy than I was expecting which was kind of disappointing b/c the chemistry in the little bits between Kendall and Dylan was sweet... In the end it had other qualities that made me aw, and sniff, and all that good stuff. The Ashlee stuff was borderline more than I could take...and yet, it still made 4 stars and keepability...

OK, so I'm usually extremely unfussy with my erotica...and the sexiness was fine. But it felt like Nick was just a side character and kind of unimportant. I really hated that. I mean, I know poly-amorous relationships are fairly rare in the real world, but when I read menage erotica, I want it to be about all the players...and it was very Tyler/Kaelin focussed...like Nick was only there to make it a menage, but his bits for the relationship seemed almost tacked on....*shrugs*

So close to a 5 star...only thing holding me back was the casualness of the sex involved sometimes....even if that may be true for many high schoolers these days.
But on to the good -- the writing! I knew I was going to enjoy it as soon as I started wanting to read out parts to my husband that made me giggle (regardless of the fact that he doesn't *really* care...;)). So witty...so hilarious...so deep...so confusing. I'm not a sports girl at all (playing sports anyways), but I read another reviewer who said she wasn't and it didn't matter and I wholeheartedly agree. This was about the characters, of which there were so many good ones in spite of their flaws. Really enjoyed it. Will definitely read more from this author b/c I loved her voice...
