Une romance de Noël que j'ai lu avec grand plaisir !

Jolie découverte pour moi, je ne connaissais pas du tout cette auteure mais la couverture et le résumé m'ont bien donnée envie ... Et j'ai beaucoup aimé !

La romance était sexy et mignonne, un slow burn avec Lyla et Mason qui se détestent au bureau jusqu'à ce qu'une nuit pleine de révélations et de rebondissements change tout pour eux et que Lyla se retrouve embarquer dans un village féérique (j'ai TELLEMENT adoré Yule !! J'aurais voulu tout visiter !) et plein de mensonges =)

J'ai adoré la façon dont leur relation se construit peu à peu, les rebondissements (l'horrible ex !! Et l'histoire de la fraise !!), l'angst (vers la fin ><), les moments sexy et mignons ...

J'aurais peut-être aimé plus de détails à la fin (notamment voir comment ils s'adaptent à leur nouvelle vie) mais à part ça, j'ai adoré ce livre !

Bref, une romance de Noël sexy et mignonne parfaite pour la saison !

A Christmas romance that I read with great pleasure !

A nice discovery for me, I didn't know this author at all but the cover and the summary made me want to read it ... And I really liked it !

The romance was sexy and cute, a slow burn with Lyla and Mason hating each other at the office until one night full of revelations and twists changes everything for them and Lyla finds herself taken to a fairytale village (I loved Yule SO MUCH !! I wanted to visit everything !) and full of lies =)

I loved the way their relationship builds little by little, the twists (the horrible ex !! And the strawberry story !!), the angst (towards the end ><), the sexy and cute moments ...

I might have liked more details at the end (especially seeing how they adapt to their new life) but other than that, I loved this book !

In short, a sexy and cute Christmas romance perfect for the season !

Une romance de Noël avec une touche de suspense que j'ai dévoré

Je suis une grande fan des livres de Cynthia Eden mais particulièrement de ses romances de Noël qui combinent suspense et Noël =D

J'ai adoré les petites phrases en début de chapitre qui m'ont beaucoup fait rire, leurs premières retrouvailles et toute la relation entre Jake et True (son côté hyper protecteur mais aussi mignon et romantique ! La sortie patinoire, le sapin géant ...) mais aussi l'intrigue dont le dénouement m'a bien surprise !

Bref, une romance de Noël à dévorer sans modération que je recommande à tous les fans de cette auteure mais aussi ceux qui veulent une romance de Noël sexy, amusante et pleine de mystère !

PS : j'espère qu'il y aura un tome sur le frère de Jake dans le futur =)

PS2 : cette couverture est tellement GÉNIALE !

A Christmas romance with a touch of suspense that I devoured

I am a big fan of Cynthia Eden's books but especially her Christmas romances which combine suspense and Christmas =D

I loved the little sentences at the beginning of the chapter which made me laugh a lot, their first reunion and the whole relationship between Jake and True (his hyper protective but also cute and romantic side ! The ice skating rink date, the giant Xmas tree ...) but also the plot whose outcome really surprised me !

In short, a Christmas romance to devour without moderation that I recommend to all fans of this author but also those who want a sexy, funny and mysterious Christmas romance !

PS : I hope there will be a book about Jake's brother in the future =)

PS2 : this cover is so AWESOME !

Genre & Tropes : Urban fantasy x Novella x Slavic mythology x Christmasish vibes x Winter vibes

Une petite nouvelle avec une ambiance très hivernale dans l'univers de Kate Daniels

Grande fan d'Ilona Andrews, j'avais déjà lu cette nouvelle quand elle était sortie en ligne chapitre par chapitre mais j'attendais l'hiver pour lire la version publiée complète ... Et du coup ça m'a laissée le temps d'oublier à quel point je l'avais adoré =)

J'étais très curieuse d'en apprendre plus sur Roman qui est un personnage secondaire mais récurrent dont on ignore pas mal de choses ... Et j'ai adoré en apprendre plus sur lui dans cette petite nouvelle : comment il est devenu celui qu'il est aujourd'hui (OMG son passé avec son frère !!), où il vit ... J'adore le côté grognon badass mais avec un côté sensible / généreux / protecteur (les petites bestioles qu'il accueille =)) !

J'ai beaucoup aimé également tout l'univers avec les différentes mythologies mais surtout les références aux divinités slaves !

ET BIEN SÛR QUE JE LE SHIPPE AVEC ANDORA !!

Bref, une nouvelle que j'ai lu avec grand plaisir qui ravira les fans de Kate Daniels mais aussi les nouveaux venus ! J'espère vraiment qu'on aura une suite (et qu'il y aura de la romance =D)

A novella with a very wintery atmosphere in the world of Kate Daniels

A big fan of Ilona Andrews, I had already read this story when it was released online chapter by chapter but I waited for winter to read the complete published version ... And it gave me time to forget how much I had loved it =)

I was very curious to learn more about Roman who is a secondary but recurring character about whom we don't know a lot ... And I loved learning more about him in this short story : how he became who he is today (OMG his past with his brother !!), where he lives ... I love the grumpy badass side but also with a sensitive / generous / protective side (the little critters he welcomes =)) !

I also really liked the whole universe with the different mythologies but especially the references to Slavic deities !

AND OF COURSE I SHIP HIM WITH ANDORA !!

In short, a novella that I read with great pleasure that will delight Kate Daniels fans but also newcomers ! I really hope we get a sequel (and that there will be romance =D)

Une romance médiévale avec une touche de magie que j'ai lu avec grand plaisir !

Je ne connaissais ni cette auteure ni ce livre (et j'ai oublié qui m'en a parlé ><) mais j'avais envie de quelque chose d'un peu différent et comme ça faisait longtemps que je n'avais rien lu en romances historiques ... Et j'ai adoré !

Les personnages étaient attachants (mention spéciale pour Robert =)), j'ai beaucoup aimé toute l'intrigue avec Camden (même si j'aurais voulu quelque chose de plus complexe), l'univers était intéressant et j'ai bien sûr adoré la romance entre les deux personnages avec Alyssa amoureuse depuis des années et Dillon qui la découvre et réalise qu'il a déjà trouvé ce qu'il cherche depuis des années !

OK certains décisions de Alyssa sont discutables (notamment guérir tout le monde en se mettant en danger ...) et la fin était un peu facile (COMME PAR HASARD tout se règle par une grosse révélation x)) mais j'ai quand même apprécié ma lecture jusqu'au dernier moment =)

Bref, une romance médiévale entre un lord et sa sorcière qui se lit trop vite !

I didn't know this author or this book (and I forgot who told me about it ><) but I wanted something a little different and since it had been a long time since I had read anything in historical romances ... And I loved it !

The characters were endearing (special mention for Robert =)), I really liked the whole plot with Camden (even if I would have liked something more complex), the universe was interesting and I of course loved the romance between the two characters with Alyssa in love for years and Dillon who discovers her and realizes that he has already found what he has been looking for for years !

OK some of Alyssa's decisions are questionable (notably healing everyone by putting herself in danger ...) and the end was a bit easy (BY CHANCE everything is settled by a big revelation x)) but I still enjoyed my reading until the last moment =)

In short, a medieval romance between a lord and his witch that I read too quickly !

Une petite romance sympa mais sans plus

C'était globalement une lecture agréable mais j'aurais voulu un livre entier avec beaucoup plus d'angst et j'aurais aimé que Wren reste plus longtemps sur ses positions avant de pardonner à Reed (dont la logique était plus que douteuse ...)

Bref, une romance sympa pour se distraire mais pas inoubliable !

It was overall a pleasant read but I would have liked a whole book with a lot more angst and I would have liked Wren to stick to her guns longer before forgiving Reed (whose logic was more than questionable ...)

In short, a nice romance to have a light read but not unforgettable !

Une petite romance que j'ai lu trop vite

Je dois avouer que c'est la jolie couverture qui m'a attirée d'abord mais une fois dans le livre, j'ai bien apprécié la lecture ! J'aurais voulu quelque chose de beaucoup plus long et développé parce que leur histoire et les explications vont trop vites pour qu'on s'attache vraiment aux personnages mais j'ai quand même apprécié l'intrigue (et je suis curieuse pour l'histoire de Wren !)

Bref, une romance parfaite pour se distraire !

A short romance that I read too quickly

I must admit that it was the pretty cover that attracted me at first but once in the book, I really enjoyed reading it ! I would have liked something much longer and more developed because their story and the explanations go too fast for us to really get attached to the characters but I still enjoyed the plot (and I'm curious about Wren's story !)

In short, a perfect romance to entertain yourself!

Bon même si le tome précédent reste mon préféré, j'ai lu avec plaisir cette petite nouvelle avec Maggie, une amie de Sophie (l'héroïne du premier tome que l'on revoit d'ailleurs avec son enfant !) qui tombe sous le charme de son voisin, Archie, qui est un orc/alien ! Et c'était tout mignon mais aussi sexy et plein de bouffe délicieuse <3

Bref, une romance de Noël mignonne parfaite pour la saison !

Well even if the previous book remains my favorite, I read with pleasure this little novella with Maggie, a friend of Sophie (the heroine of the first book that we see again with her child !) who falls under the spell of her neighbor, Archie, who is an orc/alien ! And it was cute but also sexy and full of delicious food <3

In short, a cute Christmas romance perfect for the season !

Une romance de Noël avec des aliens mais surtout très mignonne ><

OK je reconnais que la romance entre le barista grognon et la nouvelle employée tout sourire, ce n'est pas une nouveauté ... Et quand ça se passe à Noël, ça aussi ce n'est pas très original !

MAIS

La version alien ?? Sur une station spatiale qui fête Noël avec toutes les nouveautés du futur et les variantes aliens ?? Ca, ça change et je dois avouer que ça fait tout le charme de cette nouvelle de Noël que j'ai lu avec plaisir =) J'ai adoré découvrir la station spatiale à travers les yeux émerveillés de Sophie et j'ai ADORE la voir tomber amoureuse de X ... Et voir X tenter de résister =)

Bref, une romance de Noël mignonne qui se lit en un clin d'oeil !

A Christmas romance with aliens but above all very cute ><

OK I have to admit that the romance between the grumpy barista and the new sunshine employee is not a new thing ... And when it happens at Christmas, that too is not very original !

BUT

The alien version ?? On a space station that celebrates Christmas with all the novelties of the future and the alien variants ?? That's a change and I must admit that it's what makes this Christmas novella so charming that I read with pleasure =) I loved discovering the space station through Sophie's amazed eyes and I LOVED seeing her fall in love with X ... And seeing X try to resist =)

In short, a cute Christmas romance that can be read in the blink of an eye !

Pas besoin d'avoir lu les autres livres de la série Cosmere pour suivre l'histoire de ce livre (même si j'imagine qu'il y avait des références que je n'ai pas eu, notamment celles sur Hoid !)

Genre & Tropes : high fantasy x quest plot x adventure x cute romance x pirates x YA vibes

Un joli livre de fantasy avec une romance mignonne et des aventures très Princess Bride

Ca fait des années que j'entend parler de Brandon Sanderson et de l'univers Cosmere mais je n'avais encore jamais essayé ses livres ! Et puis en allant à Manchester, j'ai craqué sur la couverture de Tress qui m'a donnée envie de tenter l'aventure ... Et j'ai savouré ce livre !

L'univers était absolument fascinant (j'ai adoré toutes ces mers de sables colorés qui sont en réalité des spores flippants ! Et le décalage technologique selon les univers (la tablette xD)), l'intrigue m'a enchantée (avec un retournement de situations que je n'avais presque pas vu venir !) et j'ai adoré Tress mais aussi les autres personnages !

Mention spéciale pour le narrateur Hoid (même si au début c'était un peu étrange d'avoir un genre de narrateur omniscient qui est un autre personne qui était maudit à l'époque de l'histoire xD)

Bref, un livre de fantasy que j'ai apprécié comme une bonne tasse de thé chaud au coin du feu !

PS : je suis tellement curieuse pour Hoid, je vais devoir lire d'autres livres avec lui =)

No need to have read the other books in the Cosmere series to follow the story of this book (although I imagine there were references I didn't get, especially the ones about Hoid !)

A nice fantasy book with a cute romance and very Princess Bride adventures

I've been hearing about Brandon Sanderson and the Cosmere universe for years but I've never tried his books ! And then on my way to Manchester, I fell for the cover of Tress which made me want to try the adventure ... And I enjoyed this book very much !

The universe was absolutely fascinating (I loved all these seas of colored sand which are actually scary spores ! And the technological shift according to the universes (the tablet xD)), the plot enchanted me (with a twist that I almost didn't see coming !) and I loved Tress but also the other characters !

Special mention for the narrator Hoid (even if at first it was a little strange to have a kind of omniscient narrator who is another character who was cursed at the time of the story xD)

In short, a fantasy book that I enjoyed like a good cup of hot tea by the fire !

PS: I'm so curious about Hoid, I'm going to have to read other books with him =)

Une romance entre deux profilers que j'ai lu avec plaisir

OK ce n'est peut-être pas mon tome préféré car j'ai eu du mal à m'attacher aux deux personnages principaux : j'ai beaucoup aimé leur talent de profilage et toute l'histoire avec les chaussettes Pokemon (trop mignon <3) mais je les trouvais trop froids / cérébraux pour que je m'attache réellement à eux (même si ça s'explique par leur passé !) MAIS ça reste une lecture agréable =)

Bref, une romance de bikers parfaite pour se distraire !

A romance between two profilers that I read with pleasure

OK this is maybe not my favorite book because I had a hard time getting to love the two main characters : I really liked their profiling talent and the whole story with the Pokemon socks (so cute <3) but I found them too cold / cerebral for me to really get attached to them (even if it can be explained by their past !) BUT it's still a pleasant read =)

In short, a perfect biker romance to distract yourself !
