Une romance à suspense que j'ai lu avec plaisir !

Comme Rebecca Zanetti est une de mes auteures préférées, j'étais impatiente de lire ce livre mais comme je ne suis pas fan de Kindle Vella, l'attente a été longue ><

Et ce fut une lecture agréable ! J'ai beaucoup aimé le décor de l'Alaska, les personnages étaient attachants (je suis hyper curieuse d'en apprendre plus sur tous les frères Osprey), l'intrigue était intéressante (même si ça partait un peu dans tous les sens parfois xD) et la romance était sympa !

Ce n'est pas un coup de cœur absolu parce que il me manquait un petit quelque chose en plus mais je lirais les prochains tomes avec plaisir =)

Bref, une romance à suspense glaciale parfaite pour se distraire !

A suspense romance that I read with pleasure !

Since Rebecca Zanetti is one of my favorite authors, I was eager to read this book but since I'm not a fan of Kindle Vella, the wait was long ><

And it was a pleasant read ! I really liked the Alaskan setting, the characters were endearing (I'm super curious to learn more about all the Osprey brothers), the plot was interesting (even if it went off in all directions sometimes xD) and the romance was nice !

It's not an absolute favorite because I was missing a little something but I would read the next books with pleasure =)

In short, a icy suspense romance perfect for distraction !

 Enfin le tome avec le frère de Royal que j'attendais avec tant d'impatience !

Est-ce qu'on a entendu mon cri de joie jusqu'à la lune quand j'ai reçu cet ARC ?? Très probablement ><

J'étais hyper enthousiaste à l'idée d'avoir un livre avec le mystérieux frère de Royal qu'on avait aperçu dans Brutal Ice et sans surprise, je l'ai ADORE !! Et comme Marley est la cousine d'Ophelia (de Locked In Ice) que j'adore, j'étais aux anges !!

Je n'ai PAS DU TOUT vu venir le dénouement de l'intrigue mais j'ai été tenu en haleine tout le livre par les différentes tentatives contre Declan mais aussi par la romance sexy mais aussi terriblement amusante (leur première rencontre qui pour moi compte totalement comme un meet-cute même avec les instruments de torture xD) et étrangement mignonne (on adore les badass qui sont démunis face à une héroïne qui leur fait un calin !)

Bref, une romance à suspense que j'ai dévoré et qui ravira les fans de la séries et de Cynthia Eden mais aussi les fans du genre !

PS1 : j'ai TELLEMENT besoin d'un livre avec Hunter !! Et les frères de Marley =D

PS2 : la dédicace m'a brisée le coeur et je renouvelle ici toutes mes condoléances à l'auteure ...

 Finally the volume with Royal's brother that I was waiting for with such impatience!

Was my cry of joy heard all the way to the moon when I received this ARC ?? Most likely ><

I was super excited to have a book with the mysterious brother of Royal that we had seen in Brutal Ice and unsurprisingly, I LOVED him !! And since Marley is the cousin of Ophelia (from Locked In Ice) that I love, I was over the moon !!

I did NOT AT ALL see the denouement of the plot coming but I was kept in suspense throughout the book by the various attempts against Declan but also by the sexy romance but also terribly amusing (their first meeting which for me totally counts as a meet-cute even with the torture instruments xD) and strangely cute (we love badasses who are helpless in the face of a heroine who hugs them !)

In short, a suspense romance that I devoured and which will delight fans of the series and Cynthia Eden but also fans of the genre !

PS1: I SO need a book with Hunter !! And Marley's brothers =D

PS2: the dedication broke my heart and I'm so sorry for the author's loss ...

Genre & Tropes : Romantasy x Dragons x Touch Her and Die x War plot x Spicy

Un troisième tome hyper attendu que j'ai dévoré mais qui n'est pas un coup de coeur absolu

Je viens juste de terminer ce tome après avoir passé une semaine à dormir très peu et à rêver de pouvoir sécher le boulot pour continuer de lire ><
Comme les deux précédents tomes, c'est un livre addictif que j'ai dévoré avec grand plaisir ! Il a ses défauts mais ça ne veut pas dire que je n'ai pas apprécié ma lecture =)

Je vous conseille de relire au moins le précédent tome avant de lire celui-là parce qu'à part quelques personnages, j'avais oublié la moitié des noms et c'était assez déconcertant au début xD

Ce que j'ai particulièrement aimé :

- l'univers ! Pour moi, c'est un des gros points forts de ce livre parce qu'il y a une telle richesse autour des religions, des cultures, des langages ... J'aurais voulu que les héros passent beaucoup plus de temps sur les îles pour les explorer !

- la roooomaaaance !! C'est le deuxième gros point fort !! J'adore toute cette tension entre Xaden et Violet tout au long du livre, les moments hyper pfioulala mais en réalité ce que je préfère, c'est le fait qu'ils s'aiment et qu'ils n'hésitent pas à se le dire ... et qu'ils sont prêts à franchir toutes les limites, même les plus horribles et ça les rend tellement plus intéressants et humains !
(Et OK Xaden est tellement sexy quand il est en mode surprotecteur ><)

- les quelques touches d'humour qui m'ont bien fait rire (mention spéciale pour la scène dans la librairie xD J'étais MORTE !)

Ce que j'ai moins aimé :

- j'aurais souhaité que l'intrigue aille plus loin et surtout j'ai eu l'impression que la partie avec les dieux sortait un peu de nulle part ... J'ai pas souvenir d'avoir vu ça dans les précédents livres et je ne suis pas sûre que ça soit bien utile ...

- cette fin juste ...trop bizarre xD Outre le fait que ça ressemble beaucoup à ce qu'on a eu dans le précédent tome sur certains aspects, j'ai eu l'impression qu'il me manquait des pages parce que ça n'avait aucun sens ><


Bref, une romantasy sexy et pleine de tensions que j'ai dévoré ! Pour moi, ça reste un incontournable à lire mais sans que ce soit un coup de coeur que je relirais plusieurs fois ...

J'attends le prochain tome avec impatience même si pour être honnête, j'aurais préféré que ça reste une trilogie ><
(j'ai peur que ça fasse comme Blood and Ash de Jennifer L. Armentrout que j'ai plus ou moins abandonné parce que ça trainait en longueur ><)

A highly anticipated third book that I devoured but which is not an absolute favorite

I just finished this book after spending a week sleeping very little and dreaming of being able to skip work to continue reading ><
Like the two previous ones, it is an addictive book that I devoured with great pleasure ! It has its flaws but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy reading it =)

I advise you to reread at least the previous book before reading this one because apart from a few characters, I had forgotten half of the names and it was quite disconcerting at first xD

What I particularly liked :

- the universe ! For me, it's one of the big strong points of this book because there is such a richness around religions, cultures, languages ​​... I would have liked the heroes to spend much more time on the islands to explore them !

- the roooomaaaance !! It's the second big strong point !! I love all this tension between Xaden and Violet throughout the book, the hyper pfioulala moments but in reality what I prefer is the fact that they love each other and that they don't hesitate to tell it to each other ... and that they are ready to cross all the limits, even the most horrible ones and that makes them so much more interesting and human ! (And OK Xaden is so sexy when he's in overprotective mode ><)

- the few touches of humor that made me laugh (special mention for the scene in the bookstore xD I was DEAD !)

What I liked less :

- I would have liked the plot to go further and especially I had the impression that the part with the gods came out of nowhere ... I don't remember seeing that in the previous books and I'm not sure it's very useful ...

- this ending just ... too weird xD Besides the fact that it's very similar to what we had in the previous book on certain aspects, I had the impression that I was missing pages because it didn't make any sense ><

In short, a sexy and tension-filled romance that I devoured ! For me, it remains a must-read but without being a favorite that I would reread several times ...

I am impatiently waiting for the next book even if to be honest, I would have preferred it to remain a trilogy ><
(I'm afraid it will be like Blood and Ash by Jennifer L. Armentrout that I more or less abandoned because it dragged on ><)

Genre & Tropes : Historical Romance x Regency x Spy plot x sadic villain x Age Gap

Le premier tome d'une série de romances historiques sur fond d'espionnage que j'ai lu avec plaisir !

Ça faisait ultra longtemps que je n'avais pas lu de romances historiques mais ça faisait un moment que ce livre me faisait de l’œil ... Et ce fut une agréable surprise =D

L'intrigue était très tordue (et absolument horrible !! Tout ce qu'ont subi ces pauvres filles ... Les descriptions sont horribles donc attention public averti !), la romance très originale pour une romance historique (le héros et l'héroïne sont ensemble mais dans une relation amant / amante et sont tous les deux conscients que leur écart social fait qu'ils ne vont pas terminer ensemble ... Et du coup dans les prochains tomes, ils trouvent l'amour chacun de leurs côtés !) et j'ai bien aimé les personnages =)

Toutefois, la relation entre Henri et Eliza était parfois trop "simple" (Eliza lui fait confiance trop vite et il n'y a jamais de désaccords ou d'angst entre eux ...) et si d'habitude, j'adore l'écart d'âge, là c'était presque une relation Daddy ... Et c'est moins ma tasse de thé !

Bref, une romance historique pleine de tensions et de rebondissements avec une intrigue assez originale ! Ce n'est pas un énorme coup de cœur mais je vais lire les prochains tomes avec plaisir !

The first book of a series of historical romances with a spy plot that I read with pleasure !

It's been a long time since I read a historical romance but this book had been catching my eye for a while ... And it was a pleasant surprise =D

The plot was very twisted (and absolutely horribl e!! Everything these poor girls have been through ... The descriptions are horrible so beware, mature audiences only !), the romance very original for a historical romance (the hero and heroine are together but in a lover/lover relationship and are both aware that their social gap means that they won't end up together ... And so in the next books, they each find love on their own !) and I really liked the characters =)

However, the relationship between Henri and Eliza was sometimes too "simple" (Eliza trusts him too quickly and there are never any disagreements or angst between them ...) and if I usually love the age gap, this one was almost a Daddy relationship ... And it's less my cup of tea !

In short, a historical romance full of tension and twists with a rather original plot ! It's not a huge favorite but I'll read the next books with pleasure !

Un premier tome d'une série qui promet beaucoup et que j'ai lu avec plaisir

Quand j'ai appris que Juliette Cross (une auteure que j'adore, notamment pour ses séries Stay a Spell (qui existe maintenant en français sous le titre Un loup bien relou !) et Vampire Blood) allait écrire une série avec des vibes d'empire romain ET de dragons, j'étais aux anges ! Je ne suis pas toujours une grande fan des dragons mais J'ADORE l'Empire romain !! Alors avoir un ARC ... <3

Après avoir fini ce livre, je suis un peu partagée :

- j'ai dévoré ce livre, vibré avec les personnages (ET TELLEMENT STRESSE notamment à cause de Cyprian !! Certains moments étaient hyper tendus mais j'ai aimé qu'on ne tombe pas dans le glauque !) et j'ai eu un ENORME coup de coeur pour l'univers qui était aussi génial que ce que j'imaginais (toute cette revisite de l'empire romain mais mélangée avec le foklore des dragons ... GENIAL !)

MAIS

- il m'a manquée un petit quelque chose pour que ce soit un coup de coeur ... J'aurais voulu passer plus de temps à apprendre à connaitre les personnages et à découvrir tout l'univers (je voulais explorer Rome et tout le foklore lié aux dragons !) !
J'aurais voulu une intrigue plus tordue et poussée et un slow burn pour les personnages (surtout étant donné la position esclave d'un peuple qui a été opprimé par les romains / maître et général romain connu pour sa cruauté !)

J'attends donc le deuxième tome avec impatience pour me prononcer définitivement pour cette série, même si je ne sais pas si j'aimerais autant Trajan et Lela que Milena et Julian (MAIS je suis hyper curieuse pour les barbares dragons !)

Bref, un premier tome de romantasy que j'ai lu avec plaisir et qui promet une série forte en rebondissements !

A first book of a series that promises a lot and that I read with pleasure

When I learned that Juliette Cross (an author that I love, especially for her series Stay a Spell and Vampire Blood) was going to write a series with Roman empire AND dragon vibes, I was over the moon ! I'm not always a big fan of dragons but I LOVE the Roman Empire !! So having an ARC ... <3

After finishing this book, I'm a little torn :

- I devoured this book, vibrated with the characters (AND STRESSED SO MUCH especially because of Cyprian !! Some moments were super tense but I liked that we didn't fall into the gloomy and really awful !) and I had a HUGE crush on the universe which was as great as what I imagined (all this revisiting of the Roman empire but mixed with the folklore of dragons ... BRILLIANT !)

BUT

- I missed a little something for it to be a favorite ... I would have liked to spend more time getting to know the characters and discovering the whole universe (I wanted to explore Rome and all the folklore related to dragons !) !
I would have liked a more twisted and advanced plot and a slow burn for the characters (especially given the slave position of a person who were oppressed by the Romans / Roman master and general known for his cruelty !)

So I'm impatiently waiting for the second book to make a final decision for this series, even if I don't know if I would like Trajan and Lela as much as Milena and Julian (BUT I am very curious about the dragon barbarians !)

In short, a first book of romantasy that I read with pleasure and which promises a series full of twists and turns !

Genre & Tropes : Contempo Romance x Some suspense plot x Mafia romance x Spicy scenes

Attention, si vous aimez les romances mafia, ici ce n'est pas du tout de la dark romance et tout reste très "gentil" !

Le premier tome d'une romance mafia que j'ai lu avec beaucoup de plaisir !

Je suis une grande fan des livres de Lani Lynn Vale donc j'avais HYPER hâte de lire sa nouvelle série, surtout vu les aperçus qu'on avait eu de la famille Semyonov dans la série avec les frères Carter !

En plus, l'héroïne qui est une prof d'histoire intolérante au lactose ... J'ai une amie prof d'histoire qui est intolérante au lactose (mais pas de mafieux sexy ><)

J'ai beaucoup apprécié ma lecture : la romance était sexy et marrante (j'adore quand Brecken le "harcèle" en le suivant partout en voiture xD), l'intrigue était intéressante (je m'attendais tellement pas à la réaction de son ex à la fin !!) et j'ai adoré les personnages !!

Quelques petits regrets :

- l'histoire avec l'intolérance au lactose était un peu étrange ... Ayant une amie qui est intolérante au lactose, je sais que c'est bien plus facile aujourd'hui de manger des trucs sans lactose et j'ai trouvé ça un peu ridicule que l'héroïne souffre inutilement en mangeant des aliments qu'elle aurait pu facilement éviter ... Après peut-être que c'est culturel et qu'en France c'est plus facile à gérer qu'aux Etats-Unis ?

- j'aurais voulu que l'intrigue aille plus loin avec l'ex et l'ex meilleure amie, peut-être avec plus de rebondissements ...

- la scène anatomiquement bizarre dans le café à Houston (j'ai dû m'arrêter de lire tellement je trouvais ça hilarant xD)

Bref, une romance mafieuse à dévorer sans modération ! J'a hyper hâte de lire les prochains tomes !

PS : j'espère vraiment qu'on aura des livres avec la famille de Brecken parce que je suis hyper curieuse !

Be careful, if you like mafia romances, here it's not a dark romance and everything is very "nice" !

The first book of a mafia romance series that I read with great pleasure !

I am a big fan of Lani Lynn Vale's books so I was SUPER eager to read her new series, especially given the glimpses we had of the Semyonov family in the series with the Carter brothers !

Also, the heroine who is a lactose intolerant history teacher... I have a history teacher friend who is lactose intolerant (but not a sexy mobster ><)

I really enjoyed my reading : the romance was sexy and funny (I love when Brecken "harassed" him by following him everywhere in her car xD), the plot was interesting (I really didn't expect her ex's reaction at the end !!) and I loved the characters !!

A few small regrets :

- the story with lactose intolerance was a bit strange ... Having a friend who is lactose intolerant, I know that it is much easier today to eat lactose-free things and I found it a bit ridiculous that the heroine suffers unnecessarily by eating foods that she could have easily avoided ... But maybe it is cultural and that in France it is easier to manage than in the United States ?

- I would have liked the plot to go further with the ex and the ex best friend, maybe with more twists ...

- the anatomically bizarre scene in the cafe in Houston (I had to stop reading because I found it so hilarious xD)

In short, a mafia romance to devour without moderation ! I can't wait to read the next books !

PS : I really hope we'll have books with Brecken's family too because I'm super curious !

Une déception ...

Après avoir lu et adoré A Minotaur Tale: In Prose, Being a Monster Romance for Yuletide de cette auteure, j'étais très enthousiaste à l'idée de lire ce livre ... Malheureusement, contrairement à la nouvelle, je n'ai pas du tout accroché à cette romance ...

Pourtant le trope de la mère célibataire et la romance de la seconde chance sont deux tropes que j'adore ! Mais ici, j'ai trouvé que ce n'était pas assez exploité, cela manquait de drama (on nous prépare à une confrontation avec les horribles parents et il y a aussi l'histoire de l'ex ou de la soeur disparue ... Et en fait rien du tout ! Il n'y a aucun rebondissement !) et les personnages étaient inconsistents : Catrin est censée se méfier des orcs après avoir eu le coeur brisé ... Et elle couche avec l'homme qui l'a rejeté très peu de temps après l'avoir revu ...

Et alors trop de scènes de sexes ! Et trop longues !

C'est vraiment dommage parce que l'univers a l'air top mais la romance ...

Bref, une romance qui manquait de profondeur et de développement !

A disappointment ...

After reading and loving A Minotaur Tale: In Prose, Being a Monster Romance for Yuletide by this author, I was very excited to read this book ... Unfortunately, unlike the novella, I didn't like this romance ...

However, the single mother trope and the second chance romance are two tropes that I love ! But here, I found that it was not exploited enough, it lacked drama (we are prepared for a confrontation with the horrible parents and there is also the story with the ex or the missing sister ... And at the end, nothing at all ! There is no twist !) and the characters were inconsistent : Catrin is supposed to be wary of orcs after having her heart broken ... And she sleeps with the man who rejected her very soon after seeing him again ...

And also too many sex scenes ! And too long !

It's really a shame because the universe seems great but the romance ...

In short, a romance that lacked depth and development !

Une romance sympa mais pas non plus inoubliable

C'est compliqué pour moi de chroniquer la série Five Packs parce que même si c'est mon plaisir coupable, je passe aussi beaucoup de temps à rouler des yeux en lisant certains passages ><

J'ai bien aimé l'histoire et tous les malentendus avec les deux héros MAIS j'aurais voulu plus de détails à la fin, plus de rebondissements et surtout voir la guérison de Annie plus en détails ...

Bref, une romance paranormale légère et qui se lit bien sans prise de tête !

A nice romance but not unforgettable either

It's complicated for me to review the Five Packs series because even if it's my guilty pleasure, I also spend a lot of time rolling my eyes when reading certain passages ><

I really liked the story and all the misunderstandings with the two heroes BUT I would have liked more details at the end, more twists and especially to see Annie's recovery in more detail ...

In short, a light paranormal romance nice to read but not unforgettable !

Une romance historique que j'ai lu avec beaucoup de plaisir !

Même si j'ai mis du temps à lire ce livre (je ne sais pas trop pourquoi mais je n'ai pas lu de romances historiques depuis hyper longtemps et même si plein de titres me donnent envie, impossible de m'y mettre ...), j'étais hyper enthousiaste à l'idée de lire l'histoire du frère de Mina (de A Bride for the Prizefighter) que j'avais déjà adoré ... Et sans surprise, gros coup de coeur !

J'ai absolument adoré les différents personnages : Jeremy qui est à la fois sexy (son obsession pour les Venus <3), maladroit et attendrissant, Emmeline un peu naïve mais aussi adorable et amusante et mention spéciale pour Teddy qui m'a tellement fait rire xD

La romance était à la fois sexy et mignonne et presque un slow-burn comme leur première romance date d'une dizaine d'années et qu'ils passent une grande partie du livre plongés dans les malentendus entre eux ><

Bref, une romance historique sexy et amusante que j'ai dévoré ! J'espère tellement qu'on aura un autre tome avec le meilleur ami de Jeremy =)

Even if it took me a while to read this book (I don't really know why but I haven't read historical romances for a very long time and even if lots of titles make me want to, it's impossible to get into it...), I was super excited to read the story of Mina's brother (from A Bride for the Prizefighter) that I had already loved ... And unsurprisingly, a great read !

I absolutely loved the different characters : Jeremy who is both sexy (his obsession with Venus <3), clumsy and touching, Emmeline a little naive but also adorable and funny and special mention for Teddy who made me laugh so much xD

The romance was both sexy and cute and almost a slow-burn as their first romance dates back about ten years and they spend a large part of the book immersed in misunderstandings between them ><

In short, a sexy and funny historical romance that I devoured ! I so hope we will have another volume with Jeremy's best friend =)

Une petite romance paranormale sympa

Je suis fan de Cynthia Eden (même si j'ai tendance à préférer ses romances à suspense !) donc j'étais curieuse de lire cette nouvelle qui a été réédité et ressorti avec une nouvelle couverture et quelques corrections !

Et ça a été une lecture très agréable avec une romance sexy et avec une pointe d'angst et une intrigue intéressante avec les conflits entre chasseurs et shifters !

Mon regret c'est que c'était trop court et l'intrigue et la romance auraient mérité d'être plus développé ><

Bref, une romance sympa et forte en rebondissement mais un peu trop courte !

A nice little paranormal romance

I'm a fan of Cynthia Eden (even if I tend to prefer her suspense romances !) so I was curious to read this novella which has been reissued and re-released with a new cover and some corrections !

And it was a very enjoyable read with a sexy romance and with a touch of angst and an interesting plot with the conflicts between hunters and shifters !

My regret is that it was too short and the plot and romance would have deserved to be more developed ><

In short, a nice romance with strong twists but a little too short !
