Solid 4 Stars!

This was such a sweet and adorable book.  Millie, the FMC was so sweet and tender.  I immediately fell in love with how much she loved Finn's (MMC) nieces.  Finn was the most golden retriever cinnamon roll of a MMC (with the filthiest between the sheets mouth!) I've read lately! I appreciated the boundaries we saw Finn display with his family.  Millie's family was such a sweet touch, everything Finn and the girls needed to heal their broken souls.  I'm excited to read more of Jillian Meadows.  Already downloaded Wreck my Plans to my kindle.

This was my favorite of the Broke and Beautiful series.  The most believable too.  Which, is neither here nor there because I know Tessa likes to give people the wildest jobs she can think of.  What I REALLY loved about this is the narrator.  I don't think I'd have appreciated Russell's abruptness quite as much, without the narrator giving him the fabulous accent.  It took away any abruptness I might have physically read and turned it into just normal NY talk. Rachel Dulude did a phenomenal job.

I have almost no words to say.  This book was so good.  I loved it so much I practically devoured it in a day.  Read so fast I don't know much other than the vibes were superb.  Wilde did a great job portraying the love bombing from Connor.  I didn't even initially see it in the beginning.  I felt my heart sinking with her friends as she was literally realizing it.  I love that Zac continued to love her through it.  Pushed her to be stronger, make decisions for herself, create her play book.  I LOVED that there was no third act break up, that everything was worked through together.  I adored the relationship between Zac, Noah, and Melody.  That sweet little peak into them caring for him and giving Noah so much strength.  Five stars!

I saw this book recommended several times so I placed it on my TBR and kept moving it up with each recommendation.  It was really good, but I think I set myself up for something a little different?  It kept being recommended as a dark cowboy romance and I didn't get that.

In fact, I have never said this before, but I actually wanted more debauchery in this book.  It was just as open door as it was closed door.  When Hazel said she had dark tastes, I wanted to see it.  But every time something "dark" was going to happen in the bedroom, it faded to black.  I was really disappointed by that.  Not to say the spice that we did see on page wasn't good, it absolutely was. It was phenomenal, 10/10, hands down some of the best.

The book was great, I just wanted more from it.  I think that's a me issue, not a Bull Rush or Maggie Rawdon issue.

4.5 stars!

This was SO ADORABLE.  I enjoyed this book so much.  I loved the friend group and the dynamic.  I'm glad that Patrick didn't end up being a total villain, that was a refreshing bit for me.  That even though he wanted Rosie, he respected her and left when she asked, and was always respectful of her wishes and body.  I immediately knew who Gandalf was, I was sort of bummed that it wasn't that well disguised.  Maybe it wasn't meant to be? I adored how unapologetically nerdy Rosie was and in turn, her friend group.  Who supported her and never shamed her.  Though I could have poked Shaun in the eye for telling Rosie not to go to HR.  Girl should have RUN the first time, but I also understand why she didn't.

I liked how much William supported Rosie and in turn, Rosie doing the same.  Though I don't understand why he kept telling Rosie to wait.  Even when he explained it, I didn't get it?  Overall, GREAT book.  I couldn't put it down.  I started it in the evening and when I realized it was midnight and my Kindle said I only had an hour left, well, sleep sacrifices were made.  Well worth it.

I took off a quarter star because of the "spice".  I snooped on the author before reading and fully understood that this was a not quite closed door, but more of a "beaded curtain" book.  I can see where the analogy is coming from.  You know what is happening and how, but you don't see it.  The flowery words were.... confusing so I didn't actually know what was happening.  The kitchen syrup scene, I actually had no clue anything happened.  It was really poorly executed and worded.  I had to re-read it twice to fully grasp that they were doing anything..  I felt like the scenes with Patrick were more explicit than the William scenes.  It left me confused.  I'm not saying it needed to be on the page, but it could have been done MUCH better.  The other quarter star is the timeline.  "A few weeks went by" and then it was only one?  They had a month and a half before the game submission, SIX WEEKS.  But a few weeks kept going by and at that point it felt if you added up the few weeks we were looking at more like three months.

I spent 2024 reading books on my TBR and my subscription boxes and didn't enjoy reading nearly as much as I did in 2023.  When I saw Sarina post this book on Threads, I immediately added it to my TBR.  I didn't get to it at Christmas but I made it a priority for January because I wasn't waiting until December again.

Books like this are why I read so much more in 2023. I devoured Bowen's True North series in 2023 and this book just reminded me 1. Why I love KU books so much and 2. That I am going to prioritize Bowen's contemporary romance backlist this year.  Because her books are one of the reasons I love reading so dang much.

I loved each and every story in this anthology.  I actually laughed at myself when I saw my personalized recommendation on Storygraph say that I may not like this, because I don't read a lot of anthologies-fair I don't.  It also said I didn't read a lot of nerdy books (Did they glaze over my Ali Hazelwood obsession...?)  so that just made me double down on this because Andy B.? He's the bar and all men should follow suit and fortunately Damien and Weston did.

If you can't tell, I loved this. Stayed up way past my bedtime to devour as much as possible.  Finished before noon the next day.  Actually got annoyed when I had to pause to join a work meeting.

I absolutely adored this book.  I knew it was going to be a college setting but I didn't realize the MCs (Chase and Cammie) were only 18.  BUT, Helena did so well with them.  There is little I hate more than 18 year olds out there having hot, spicy sex that is completely unrealistic to the age and experience.  Helena gave us, what I would call, the most realistic college freshman spice I've ever read.  Figuring it out together, laughing at what does and doesn't work, the acceptance to experiment.  I loved it.  If I had kids, I'd let me teenage child read this for what healthy, consensual, safe sex is about (Minus the bonus epilogue, but in Fiction, we let it slide)
I enjoyed watching Chase mature and his friends help him figure out how to be a good boyfriend.  I enjoyed watching Cammie grow and stand up for herself.

Overall, this was an adorable book.  I loved it, read it lightning fast I couldn't get enough. Definitely more spice than plot, but it was all well written, and I'm not complaining.
