First of all, this book should be called AURORA PLOT TWIST.

Second of all, uggghhhhh!!!!!!

This is an amazing continuation in the Aurora Rising triology.

The adventure.
The drama.
The deception.

I can’t even…
Best sci-fi series to date.

HOWEVER- this is not how I picture Kal.
Fight me.

But now I have to wait for bookclub to catch up to read book three

This Greek mythology reimagining gave us a badass female lead.

The overall story was good.

Keeping true to mythology, mostly, while also giving us a new perspective.

Definitely YA.

Tho it gave me something to do today while I was in bed all day, capturing my attention enough to finish it, will I read the second book?
Probably not

(Sighs) it started off slow and that had me worried. There was so much hype for this book I wanted to love it.

Then.

Out of nowhere.
(Well - around page 80)

My attention has been grabbed and I don’t want to put the book down!

The magic!
The character development.
THE PLOT TWIST.

If you did not guess… I love it.
I immediately started book 2

I loved this story.

The culture.
The magic.
The plot twists.
The character development.

I was so engulfed in this story.
From the sights and smells….
I truly felt like I was there.
The gasps and curses I let out are proof!

In the end everyone seemed to get the ending they deserved. And that may sound mean but truly it isn’t. And I was hesitant come those final few chapters! That last chapter confused me tho so if anyone has any insight I’d appreciate it.

@penchant4words does it again.

Wanna know what I like?
Plot twists.

Wanna know what else I like?
When my plot twists have plot twists.

I stayed engaged in this story.
I stayed wanting to know more.
I stayed second guessing myself.

I loved it

A well paced, quick read.

I loved the whole concept of this story.
How fierce Ceris is.
This is, by definition, a love story.
What kind of a love story would be determined by the reader.

You don’t get too engrossed into the story IMO to where you’re overly emotional about the characters but, it was still a great story nonetheless.

I don’t typically read romances.

I got sucked into this story. Like I wasn’t sure there was going to be enough book left to wrap everything up!

This was adorable and sexy.
I loved how it was “normal”.
It wasn’t your Barbie meets Ken cookie cutter love story.

My only concern with Alexa is that, she’s described as “voluptuous” and “curvy” and two pages later is “bringing her knees to her chest”. Now, I have some thickness and am also in my 30s… there is no way I am comfortably bringing my knees to my chest and just sitting there like I did 15 years ago. Some physicalities just don’t add up for me.

This is technically part of a series but not a direct series. The series includes the same characters but each story is their own POV and isn’t a direct continuation of Alexa and Drew’s story.

Caraval was slow to start. I started reading this while I was still in a reading slump and I almost stopped reading it. I’m glad I didn’t! It was like a light switch, one moment I was just drudging along reading a story and the next I was transported to a world of magic laced with deceit, wonder, and love
