The way I inhaled this book. I couldn’t stop listening and reading this book. It was constantly on my brain as soon as I started it. And now it’s over and it was satisfying. Cameron and Adalyn’s story had so many of my favorite things:
-Banter
- Nicknames (Ada Darling 🥵😩)
- Grumpy, Scruffy, Tattooed, Pet Dad, former Athlete
- A man who owns his shit

Truly I’d read about them forever. Adalyn’s turmoils felt real and at the same time kept the light hearted aspect that we love in a romcom. Cameron started as this mysterious angry man, who very quickly was on his knees for our FMC. Then there’s the sweetest gaggle of side characters like a blind baby goat, a U10 soccer team, and two very loved felines I can’t wait for the companion of this book, and if you want a swoony sports romance I can not recommend this book more.

I picked up my ARC of The Dragon’s Rose on a Sunday afternoon when I knew I would need a fun enjoyable fantasy to get through the day. I also read it all in that same day.

This book follows Rose, a human who has struck a deal to be transported to another realm to save her sister. What she didn’t do is read the contract and now she’s also getting married to the dragon king as soon as she gets there. Whoops. But I’m a sucker for arranged marriage, especially when fated mates are also involved.

This book was very easy to fall into, the world building was enough to keep me reading but not so overcomplex that I had to backtrack to remember what was happening. Rose and Malix were both equally enjoyable to be in their heads. The stakes are high for the dragon kingdom and Rose has to fall in love with her new world on her own, and the surly dragon she’s now married to, hasn’t made it easy.

Please note this is not a monster romance, this is a fantasy shifter romance with arranged marriage and political marriage. It’s the first in an interconnected series that I will absolutely be picking up. The pacing is quick, but didn’t feel rushed with the book at approx. 260 pages, my only complaint was I wish there had been more time to be in the tension and angsty parts. 4/5 Stars for me.

What was the point of saying they were shifters? Like it’s literally never done.

I was nervous about starting this book. One because of all of the hype and praise, and two because I usually don’t read much YA anymore (something about teenagers in love for me). I bet you can guess based on my stars that I had nothing to worry about.

Rebecca Ross has a way with words. Divine Rivals felt lyrical, but also direct. She’s created a world of characters that are so flawed and human that they leap off the page, but not in loud boisterous ways. Iris and Roman tumble off the page like wheat in a field, or leaves in autumn. Both are fighting so hard against the hand fate has dealt them, and when magic gives them a connection the two begin to size the opportunity to steer their own fate. However what does this war between two Gods mean for their futures, and can two people from different worlds even have a future?

Helsinki with love is a cute holiday rom com that is EXTREMELY low angst with instant attraction from both MCs. This book was cute and an easy palette cleanser going into December. For me personally I wish it had a bit more angst (there’s no third act breakup in this one folks) but I think there’s absolutely an audience that will find this refreshing!
