Have You Come to Bargain? by Cameron Fitzgerald
3.0
An interesting concept of being sucked into a game and having to play through to escape, whilst trying to solve the mysteries of it all. It's fast paced and intriguing, if it had been longer we could have seen more of the gaming world and NPC interactions which would have been interesting to develop, and longer action sequences in the boss fights would have made it more suspenseful. Overall it was a fun read though if you want a quick sci-fi escape with elements of mystery, suspense and the paranormal.

This was a fun whirlwind adventure!
Ava is a bad ass monster hunter, brave, witty and extremely independent and stubborn.
After her ex lover Gideon (a hunter too) let's slip about a nearby evil witch causing havoc and taunts that others better than Ava will be taking care of it, of course that's a red flag to a bull and she's gonna go charging off to kill the witch on her own just to prove a point.
Of course battling a powerful evil witch and her deadly creatures was easy compared with being faced with multiple warrior Fae and a hellhound trying to kill her for some reason.
Now on the run with a bag full of cursed objects, Ava is tricked into becoming a hired assassin to clear a debt, and has to work for 'Stone' a dangerously hot high Fae who's also part of the shadow court mafia and threatening her sisters life.
Travelling to the Fae realm isn't easy either having to use an imaginative portal, owned by 'Blade' who happens to be another hot high Fae who's extremely arrogant and likes pushing Ava's buttons.
Add in a Fae tavern with mortal 'slaves', an ongoing forced quest for assassination in a strange land, developing feelings for your annoying temporary boss, being hunted by kings guards and the Fae mafia, and what can possibly go wrong?
Book 1 does not disappoint, but hang in for more to come, Ava still has asses to kick!

This was a lovely read with fun and interesting characters and a discovery of new found friendships. The story flows nicely and keeps you engaged to the end, with twists and turns along the journey. The depth and variety of characters introduced throughout pulls the story together nicely alongside the descriptive world building. This was a delightful adventure and i'd love to read more about this world and characters. Highly recommend for a fun fantasy adventure read.

This was super dark and intense, and at times made me question what I was reading. Stick it out to the end though. It's a beautifully dark twisted obsessive paranormal romance.
The Shadow and the Scream: A Dark Portal Fantasy Novel by Rebecca L. Fearnley

This was a stunning tale with lots of twists and turns, and the main characters are fun, lively, strong and stubborn. This was a wonderful paranormal/supernatural dark fantasy, with elements of mystery and romance. The story kept me hooked and the characters will make you feel anger, despair, empathy and love as well as much more throughout.
There's still so much to discover, secrets to be revealed, world's to see, and truths to be told (Sheb's backstory, Annie's mother...).
Looking forward to the characters next journey in 'flight of the bone crow', and seeing more of Wriggler, Annie, Sheb and their crew.
*Recommended read.
*Mild triggers for violence, death, abuse.

Forbidden Mate: An Immortal Love Novella by Anna Santos, Anna Santos, Nancy Zee

This was a fast paced forbidden romance novella with charming and diverse characters. With werepanthers, vampires and werewolves, and a quest to find missing girls and save them from being trafficked this is a whirlwind adventure, that still leaves time for enemies to become lovers and some steamy romance.
Excited to go read other stories by this author.

Beautiful and enchanting story. It switches between the 2 MC p.o.v helping reveal interesting insights and secrets, including flashbacks to the past. Slow burn romance/ no spice. Set in a post apocalyptic world with paranormal magic. Includes evil overlord, threats to takeover the world, mysterious powers and trials of survival. This is a nice long read with long chapters (550 pages).
