I really enjoyed how this book stayed in first person with the main character.  When they flip between characters it's more like your watching the story unfold as opposed to experiencing it.  Also, I usually don't like a male author writing a female main character but he was surprisingly accurate.  I look forward to reading more from Jason Rekulak!
.  I  just wish I hadn't guessed that stepford wife Caroline was the villain from the start.  I thought her character was a little predictable.  BUT, I had no idea that Teddy would turn out being a kidnapped little girl!  That was a total shock.

If pet cemetery was a hallmark movie.  The storyline was a little slow/uneventful for me but I do think it was well written.

Read for a bookclub.  Not my usual genre.  I would say it's more sci-fi than fantasy.  I found it a little hard to focus on until part 2.  It's also pretty gory.
