It was first time reading anything written by Adrienne Young.  I really like the authors writing style.  I look forward to reading more from her!

I hated the ending.   Are we supposed to feel sorry for Walter and just ignore the fact the he slept with his girlfriends 16 year old daughter when he was 43?  Gross.

I ended up liking the book, even though the beginning lacked clear directon.
Also, I couldn't help but notice the similarities between this and the chilling adventures of Sabrina.  With the whole not knowing she was a witch and going to live with the eccentric aunts, boyfriend's from a family of witch hunters, & the cat.

A little slow to start but picks up by the third or fourth chapter.  A lot of medical jargon.

Weird.  Very weird.  But also, very original.  I think with the fantasy genre (which I love,) it's common to see similar plots and characters from book to book/author to author.  The library at Mount Char is as far away from those similarities as you could possibly get.  This unlike any story I've ever read.
