i ended up purposely skipping over parts cause i simply wanted to finish it. that's not to say this isn't a good story. for the most part i was curious to see what would happen. i just think i started it at the wrong time, and maybe sometime in the future, i'll revisit it.

not only is this a new favourite read, but this is potentially a new favourite author in the works. i loved everything about this - the characters, the fantasy, the swashbuckling adventure - it truly feels like something was missing from my life till I read this.

now im praying a sequel will come out soon 🤞🤞
