Fun, cutesy, and self aware. The banter was enjoyable and not too American, and I just enjoyed doing chores and listening to this.

Decently written and I guess the ending made sense, but this book plummeted me into a reading slump and I did NOT think the detective was smart at all. He was just moping around waiting for people to tell him things.

Super insightful on the issues in Iran in the last 40 years, but more than that, this book was just how this shaped the writers life, how she dealt with being a woman in this society and from this country. She wasn’t perfect, and she constantly felt guilty and yet carefree, was principled but hypocritical, and I appreciate that she wasn’t a “model” revolutionary for the sake of the story, just like how in Iran she wasn’t a “model” woman, she was just a WOMAN. And I rlly appreciated that and found this veryyyyy interesting

Ugh I have really mixed feelings on this book. I just wish that some of the characters had more depth, and I wish the ending was more punchy? I finished the book with it just feeling flat.

Meandering and weird. I wanted to hate this, but it was so good !!!! I don’t know how I feel about everything that happened, and I don’t know if I agree with every take. But this was an insane journey and super introspective and I can’t stop thinking about it.

Some fun stories, some unnecessary ones. Cool art. Weird characters. Pretty good

The way the ending made me so happy. Am I the problem?? I’d like to think not.

To just openly share this information and then win a Nobel prize is mad. But at the same time, it was so good … how long til I get through her whole catalogue lol

Bro this was so awkward and clunky and weird. Like there were good bits in between but it just didn’t redeem the rest of the bullshit and I felt like there were so many things that were left unanswered. Margaret was boring as fuck and always had something stupid to say. And the other characters were well developed to a point, but it was like they each had 2-3 traits and that was the extent of their development (and even then, it didn’t explain their actions). There’s only so many plot holes that a stupid twist can save you from.

And the way the “thirteenth tale” we got was so fucking annoying and half baked and had no relation to anything?? Click bait !!!!
