This book is spiritual, paying homage to Jamaica and the migrants who fought for our rights in London and the rest of the UK. This book touches on love, loss, family and community.

Queer stories have my heart and Bryan takes a different angle and tells us a new story. I love his writing so much. Black queer men deserve to be written about too.

I liked it in the beginning but then it fell flat with the switch of focus. I liked how Joya unpacked mother-daughter trauma but the resolution was not realistic in my opinion.

If you're looking for a crime and psychological thriller, this is it! The Amaka Thriller series is so underrated and Leye deserves so much more recognition

This book broke me. The reality of being queer in Nigeria can be harrowing and Ani Kayode captures this beautifully

The guy was cheat and you cannot under any circumstance change my mind. Angie was also not the smartest for entertaining him at all. The footnotes??

I'm not really a sci-fi person but this was honestly great. Based in Nigeria and I loved it.

This book was nothing like I anticipated. Lola delicately tackles the reality of being a black woman existing anywhere but more so in a predominantly white environment. The three women are very different which gives us a wide scope for discussion. This makes a very good book club book!

The age gap
took me some time to get used to, but once I did, I loved the dynamic between our MC's. Tia considers the real-life ramifications of workplace romance with a major twist. I was not a fan of the ending BUT everything else made up for it
