This book started off on a high for me. I loved the characters and I loved the plot, but it fell flat during the third act of the book and I slowly began to lose interest. Candice is an amazing writer who caught my attention very early on. The ensemble of siblings who don't know each other too well come together to help one in trouble.

A black love story where guy is willing to spend his money to prove to this girl that he is serious about her and more. However, there's only one (big) thing is the way. It's steamy, tense but also pretty romantic. I loved it.

With a supernatural spin on the civil rights movement, P Djeli Clark turns the KKK into monsters and gives the black freedom fighters magical weapons to defend themselves with. It's queer, black and for us. What more could we want?

I love domestic fiction and this book broke me. It was slow paced to I really fell in love with our two main characters and I felt their pain too. Make sure you have free time to reflect when you finish reading this, and a tissue too!

Yvette takes us through Zimbabwean history shedding light on Women who were integral in building the country that we see today, their mighty contributions and their strength throughout history.

This book had a great plot but I felt like we weren't given enough time with the character in the present in order to see his point of view. The book fell flat for me at the end
with the random death
, and it just left me feeling like "it was all a dream" in the end.
