The Misremembered Man by Christina McKenna

A Brilliant Novel
This was an incredible, compelling story that is extremely well written. I found the dialogue in particular to be expertly crafted, without being overly done as in some novels. My husband and all of his family are from Derry and I thought the dialogue and tendencies of all characters were true to life. The cruelty and abuse described in the orphanage was hard to read at times, but I found that it was necessary to understand Jaime, and to the understanding of how many of those institutions actually were for many years. Overall, I would highly recommend this book!

A story about a kingdom’s former greatest assassin? Incredible. It was the author’s first book so there’s going to be a few disconnects, but I had a great time reading it. I can’t wait for the next one!

More magic, more betrayal, and it ends on a cliffhanger. Excellent second book to a series, can’t wait to read the next one!

This book took a sharp turn from how the series was before. We’re introduced to new characters and situations. We get slight closure from Sam Cortland (but will there ever really be closure?). Can’t wait to see where the rest of the story goes from here.

It’s the prequel that explains a few things while simultaneously ripping your heart out. But you’ll like it and come back for more.
