A Very Compelling Story
At first I was scared to read this book due to the nature of it but once I really got into it in the first few pages I fell in love! The story telling is immaculate & grasps at all your emotions. The book was short but it was perfect for 180 odd pages. It wasn’t even that scary. I loved having several hero’s and how things tied together from pre to post slavery. It all worked together so well. I love how the KKK was made to look like the true monsters they actually are. And having all that hate personified into an actual monster. 10/10 book!

Well…it was okayyy. Like nothing to really write home about. I wasn’t taken aback by the plot twist. The characters weren’t the most memorable. It didn’t evoke a lot of emotion from me. Just an okay read. Like background noise.
