Couldn’t stop reading!

I could not put this boo down. It took me maybe 3 days to read. The story definitely grabbed at my heart strings. You felt for every character in the book. It made you want to get justice for every child whose life was taken for any reason. It makes me want to stand up for those who can’t do it for themselves. I love how it grabbed at all my emotions. Very well written and a good read.

This book was very thought provoking & detailed. It challenged family dynamics, relationships, and even how we view our own selves in the wake of monumental changes. Very detailed as well. I loved how different the main characters were. I loved how situations you don’t think about everyday were discussed. Like I never really considered that de-transition is something trans people considered & how some actually go through with it. Overall, I love how in-depth we went into the characters past. It showed how our past experiences shape us and our decisions in present time

SpoilerAt first I was a little spooked because everybody in the town was being weird & it made me feel uncomfortable for a hot second. Then once I started to understand what was really going on, I felt more comfortable reading on. I do like the element of possession. Especially with POCs as the main characters. I wish we could’ve learned more about the mysterious bus. I think it would have been cool to have two spooky stories going on at once. R.I.P to those of the bus crash but I think having that element in the story & not bringing it back up was a let down. Will there be a second book to discuss the mysterious bus? It did add another spooky element to the weird town so I was scared at the beginning. Overall, it was a great mystery. It adds to the diversity that POC authors give when it comes to thrillers or mystery books. Nothing was bland about it. I love how it touched on family dynamics & how we have to make sacrifices for the ones we love. The bonds we choose to create and/or maintain with family. We also see how people cope with the loss of loved ones. Really good book overall.
