Pretty Baby by Mary Kubica
3.0
I thought the premise of the book was very interesting! The book was good as was the writing. I enjoyed the different perspectives in this as in The Good Girl.
It was a little too slow paced for me. The last 6 chapters really picked up for me. My mouth dropped a few times with what happened.
I look forward to reading Don't You Cry which comes out in May!

The Help by Kathryn Stockett

I read the book a few years ago. I had heard the audio book was very good. My local library had the audio book, so I decided to give it a listen. I am glad I did! When I read the book, I gave it 4 stars, the audio book I give 5 stars too! There are several narrators and they did a fabulous job! Listening to the audio book made me want to watch the movie again, so I borrowed it from the library as well. I plan on watching it today!
The Weight of Silence by Heather Gudenkauf
5.0
Back in 2012 I listened to The Weight of Silence and These Things Hidden on audio book and I quickly became a fan of Heather Gudenkauf. I decided that this year I wanted to re-read them and read her others, which I own, but sadly had not read yet.
The Weight of Silence blew me away again!!!! I did not want to put it down! Since it had been several years since i had listened to it, I couldn't remember what was going to happen, so in some ways it was as if I was reading it for the first time.I enjoyed the multiple points of view to get the whole story from the characters views. I am ready for more Heather Gudenkauf!

Spring Fever by Mary Kay Andrews

I enjoyed this book! It seemed a little long at times. I liked Annajane and loved Pokey! I didnt see the twist towards the end coming.
I listened to the audiobook and enjoy listening to Kathleen McInerney narrating the book. I will be listening to all the Mary Kay Andrews audiobooks that my local library has!

These Things Hidden by Heather Gudenkauf
5.0
I first listened to the audio book version of These Things Hidden several years ago. With having read/listened to Heather Gudenkauf's second book, she became my favorite author. I enjoy the multiple points of view that she writes to tell the whole story.
The book was very hard to put down. I wish I had been able to read it quicker. I had forgotten the twists in the books as well, so for most of the book, it was like I was reading it for the first time.

When I got this audiobook from the library, I didn't realize it was part of a series. I am just getting all the MKA books they have on audiobook. Luckily, I didn't have to read the others to know what was going on. I enjoyed this book and the characters. I look forward to listening to more MKA books!
One Breath Away by Heather Gudenkauf
4.0
Heather Gudenkauf is my favorite author. I love that she writes with multiple points of views in her novels. One Breath Away was a very intense read. I never wanted to put it down (Specifically the last 50 or so pages)! I hated when my lunch break was over at work because I wanted to keep reading it.
I did have a few issues with some things the characters did (SPOILERS): A teacher leaving his classroom during lock down because he hears a noise above a classroom. Really!?!? A student walking around the school during lock down, a grandfather trying to go into the school and almost getting shot by a police officer in the process. What were the characters thinking? (END SPOILERS) I could see this becoming a Lifetime movie down the road. :-)
Despite the issues I had, I still really enjoyed the book and would recommend it.
I will now be reading Little Lies (novella) and Little Merices by Heather Gudenkauf.

A short novella to introduce you to the characters in Little Mercies. I enjoyed it, but wasn't really satisfied with who the killer ended up being. I'm ready to read Little Mercies!!!
