Violet knew her own worth. She would fight tooth and nail to keep Xaden but the only way she could ever give up on him if he hurt her because if he ever did-- he wasn't himself anymore.
I loved to see jealous and protective Xaden. It was also funny that even when he was jealous about her ex, he was trying to be friendly to Dain. Also the fact that Dain was so confused about him being nice was a great time.
What Xaden did in the end of Iron Flame didn't change the fact that he loved her more than anything. She's never been afraid of Xaden and it wasn't different now. Xaden is a craving Violet will never satiate. Xaden didn't know what he was now but he still only wanted her. She's every fantasy he will ever have.
It hasn't been that long since I read Iron Flame but I felt like I forgot who 90% of these characters were. I did adore Ridoc and he must be protected at all cost! He was the best friend Violet could have.
All in all I enjoyed this book a lot more than I thought I would because of what happened in Iron Flame. I mostly enjoyed this ride because of the romance but I also adored how protective Ridoc was. That being said, I think this book was a lot longer than it needed to be. It might have taken me a lot longer than I wanted to finish this book but I enjoyed Xaden and Violet enough to give it 3.5 stars.

Nathair had been dead for longer than he was alive and because what eating people in the "afterworld" did to him, all he wanted to was be left alone. Linh escaped an abusive man and Nathair saved her from the people who wanted to take her back to him. I liked that in the beginning it was her who was trying to get his attention and not the other way around. So many other Mavka went after their brides since they met and Nathair almost let a demon eat his. It was refreshing.
Linh is warm, despite her past, both physically and towards him. She's brave enough to not be afraid of him and she got another side of him. Linh got him to laugh with her and playing pranks when in the past he was avoiding everyone, even his own family. In a way Linh and Nathair helped each other heal. Nathair helped her move on slowly from what happened to her and she helped him sleep and with the voices.
Nathair and Linh were so sweet together, taking care of each other. She sang and hummed to him and he took care of her needs to the best of his capabilities. He made sure she was safe and that she didn't do anything she didn't want to. It was really sweet how at first he just wanted her to leave alone but it didn't even take him long to like how she made his home hers, even if he hated the shells.
All in all I had difficulty with choosing rating for this book. In the end I decided to give it full five stars because I didn't want it to end and wished that there was a sequel for just two of them. I really need to start picking up more monster romance.
