Slow start for this book, but then it kicked off into a fabulous adventure.

No surprises here, Nisha creates a story with immaculate vibes, rich characters, and interesting world and magic building. I’m IN!!

Did not finish book. Stopped at 12%.
Took a sharp turn from the first two books, and felt a bit torture-porny. Also, no Roen??

The book took CoBaB and threw open the windows of world building and character development! I’m dropping it to 4 stars because some of those characters barely developed, and when it seemed like they’d taken two steps forward, a big bad would drag them back down again.

What a tense, emotional adventure!! Reminded me a lot of ATLA, but with a very unique twist. Everyone’s development was so intriguing to follow. Can’t wait to start the second book.

I'll give this one a three. The writing still wasn't *great*, but I loved the friendship balance between Eli and Caly and the spice was spicing (not as triggering as the last book). Also appreciated Caly's development. The "twist" at the end wasn't as shocking as the first two, but made sense to who the characters are. Will be very interested to see how the story ends in the last book.

Helen freaking does it again!! Mixes yearning and romance perfectly within a captivating fantasy story. I laugh, learned, SOBBED!! Can’t wait for July!
