This was sooooo much better than the first one. Very proud of Blair for improving her writing and characters.

I got annoyed at Alix Olson’s white feminist poems and Stephen Colman’s black guy in white body poetry. I loved all the other ones tho! Especially Lynne Procope’s!

This was a good conclusion. I'm glad that Piper CJ was realistic with the fact that not everyone survives uprisings and you can't save everyone when pain does come. It was good! I hope we get more into the demon and ancient gods lore in the Villains prequels.

I wanted to like this but the writing got so annoying sometimes. Melissa Blair could benefit from not having this in first person past tense. This would have been ten times better with third person past tense. Hopefully the second book is better because that ending was pretty interesting.

Piper C.J. got lost in the sauce for a while, exploring characters and all, but when something did happen it felt almost shocking because I was enjoying all this exploration of her characters. The ending was so confusing tho, I guess we’ll learn more in Dawn?
