Saving Max by Antoinette van Heugten

An edge-of-your-seat psychological thriller. My coworker recommended it to me and I am so glad she did!
The Imperfectionists by Tom Rachman
3.0
This New York Times Bestseller and Random House Reader's Cicle book had a lot to live up to. It was one of the top five books of 2010 and was a debut novel for author Tom Rachman. The novel reads more like a series of short stories, each highlighting a different person who works at a Rome newspaper. As the title suggests, the characters all lead no-so-perfect lives despite having careers that strive to reach perfection.
Overall, the book was good. The chapters are quite long because each holds its own plotline. I was left disappointed at the end of the book, wishing that I knew what happened to many of the characters. I did not like the ending at all.

Chasing Harry Winston by Lauren Weisberger

This is the perfect pool-side-reading book for any Sex And the City Fan. The story follows three nearly-thirty-year-old women who are eager to get married and settle down. Through a series of upsets, they find that in order to make yourself happy, you need to do what is right for you- not what is right for someone else.
Room by Emma Donoghue

This book is unlike any other I've ever read. The first two chapters were really slow moving and I couldn't get into them. I was pleasantly surprised with the third and forth chapters that kept me on the edge of my seat. Overall, the ending was a bit boring. The storyline does make you think, and stays with you for a long time.
Swimsuit by Maxine Paetro, James Patterson

This book was suspenseful and twisted, making it difficult to put down. It centers arounda group of very rich people called The Alliance, who hire a killer to videotape executions for their entertainment. Because the chapters were very short, it was easy to pick up and read for a few minutes at a time.
