Chain of Gold by Cassandra Clare
5.0
The Shadowhunters books are my comfort reads. It is one of my favourite fictional worlds, and I love returning to the characters time and time again. I loved reading about the next generation of Herondales and Carstairs in this book, and I love all the new characters we meet. The books are all a little bit 'samey' but I really don't mind. I'd recommend for a nice easy fantasy read!
Chain of Iron by Cassandra Clare

A great instalment of The Last Hours trilogy. I'm really enjoying all the different plots that are being explored in this series, and very much looking forward to the final book. Very easy YA fantasy reads, but comforting and good for getting out of a reading slump!
The Glass House by Eve Chase
5.0
Using dual timelines and 3 narratives, The Glass House tells the story of the Harrington family and their nanny after an abandoned baby is found in the forest where they are staying in 1971. I was immediately hooked on this book, and thought the writing was absolutely beautiful. I loved the setting in the Forest of Dean so much! The characters were so well written, and the plot was filled with intrigue - I didn't want to put it down by the end! It's always satisfying when all the blot points come together in a book like this and Eve Chase did it so well! Definitely recommend for any mystery fans!
The Other People by C.J. Tudor
5.0
This book was fantastic. CJ Tudor builds suspense brilliantly and keeps you hooked throughout, I didn't want to put it down! There were some brilliant twists and turns in the plot, and I loved that every chapter ended on a cliffhanger. The only thing I didn't like was the slightly supernatural aspect, I think it could have been written slightly better. But overall a brilliant read.

This book was phenomenal. It was so well written, and I loved the way we moved through the family tree with each chapter. It was very hard hitting at times, but such an important book showing how slavery impacted every subsequent generation. I cannot recommend this book enough.
Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
5.0
**SPOILERS** I adore this series. I love the world Leigh Bardugo has created, I love the characters, I love everything. I think her worldbuilding in this book is brilliant, and I had such a vivid image in my head of all the people and places. I love the character of The Darkling and despite him being pure evil, I think he is really well written and a great character. I'd definitely recommend this series!
Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo

**SPOILERS** Another great Grishaverse book by Leigh Bardugo! The main reason I like this book is the introduction of new characters - particularly Nikolai, who I think is my all time favourite character from this series. It sets up nicely for the final book in the trilogy.

A wonderful finale to this series! A must read for any fantasy fan - Leigh Bardugo is brilliant.
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

I love everything about this book. The heist plot is fantastic and so well written, it's a real page turner. I love how we get to read from the perspectives of the different characters, and really get a feel for what's happening through their eyes. I can't even pick a favourite character, I love them all for different reasons and wish I was their friend. I loved exploring a different part of the Grishaverse and all the easter eggs for the Shadow and Bone trilogy. I can't recommend these books enough!
