I really enjoyed how things tied together and how the novel ended, i just didn’t like how long it took to get there. The start of the book was very very slow. It was an interesting representation of neurodivergence, i loved the representation of emotions through colours. Overall a good story but was just very slowly paced.

I enjoyed this, it was a good love story. I just didn’t feel particularly fond of either main character ?? Great romance but something about this didn’t hit the spot.

i have never felt so stressed as i did when reading this book. the pain felt almost physical for the first half. it was a great book but read at your own risk because i need some time to recover. the second half was also fast paced and intense but not as emotionally painful - it was more twisty.

PSA for anyone that watched/read ‘girls in love’ back in early 2000s - THIS IS AN ADULT SEQUEL. I am so so happy that i got to re-enter the world of Ellie, Magda and Nadine - this was such a nostalgic reading experience. The girls are now 40 and although their experiences are sort of unrelatable to me, i was still so happy to follow along. JW was the author that got me into reading back in primary school, her writing has such a simple yet captivating cadence that i have missed. I am so so happy that she has written this adult novel, even though i didn’t love how everything tied together at the end, im still so happy i got to read this.

THIS WAS SO GOOD. I NEED BOOK 3 NOW. i was so immersed in this world, i could imagine the grandure and the luxury of the palace, it felt like i was there. The romance and the tension was done so well i must know what happens next. so adventurous, battle scenes were easy to follow. i cant believe there isn’t more hype around this????

this started off so strong, it was such a gripping thriller. also very graphic and gruesome but this added to the plot. the climax of the novel was long which would of been good however, the ending left me very unsatisfied. wiped off a star because i felt dissapointed.

started slow but i grew to love this so much. The whole time i was nervous about how it would end. it was well written, the whole time i felt the stress and injustice.

i loved this! adventurous, sorta like acotar + fourth wing + camelot all in one. easy to follow, can’t believe this isn’t more popular. can’t wait to read the rest of the series
