A little more memoir and a little less research than I expected, but I think that's part of the point - there's not a lot of research on deep friendships because they're treated as distantly secondary to romantic relationships or even familial ties. I'm definitely still learning how to do Big Friendships and this encouraged me to keep at it.

Slow, contemplative essays that work to blur the boundary between "nature" out there and "not nature" here in the city.

It's hard to read about someone who you are coming to rather like live in a constant state of dissociation as she blows her life up. I just want Maria to be okay and to experience happiness and pleasure and be in her own body. But she can't do that yet. But maybe someday she will.

Really scratched that KSR Ministry for the Future itch.
