I listened to the audio while following along in my physical copy ...
When this book was advertised, it was emphasized as "super spicy" ... "look it even has BDSM!"
Just no!
If you were clutching your pearls at this because you thought it was spicy, I would hate to know what you think of actual spice!
I listened to a YT'ber the day I finished this, talking about how they DNF'd because it was too spicy ... MA'AM! Were we reading the same book?
I was so disappointed, and still finished the book ... ONLY because taking away the way it was advertised, Lukas and Scarlett were okay. Some of the plot was still decent to follow.
I did love the therapist and Mei more than anything ... I love when things like this [the therapist] are normalized ... asking for help is okay.
I think at this point, I am done with this author. If you love her, you are still my friend. For me, I just do not fully connect to her characters/romance approach.

I listened to the audio while following along in a physical copy ...
I really actually enjoyed this. It reminded me a bit of other YA Fantasy books I have read ... however, this one caught my attention from the very beginning and held it until the very end.
I enjoyed the storyline surrounding the mysterious beast and a secret mission from some of the characters.
I just loved the MC character, Josephine! Her and the moments shared with Clara were everything 🥹
My best non talked about character was Jean, the bird. "Mon Díeu" 🤣💀😂

This was a buddy read ...
I was high key disappointed ...
The reason I loved this series was because it was so different from your typical paranormal romance [at least the ones I read, especially by the same author] ...
I just did not quite gravitate the MCs like I did in book 1 and 2.
Reading other books by the author, I feel like the storyline gravitated to those types of books, and it was high key annoying.
From the beginning of this one, I truly disliked the FMC, Lisane. She seriously pissed me off with her shift and the blame she failed to take responsibility for ... it was chalked up to her wanting to be a martyr. Not cool!
Rhaim is still zaddy, until he made himself a simp for Lisane. [If you know me, you know I hate that word "simp", it seriously makes me cringe] ... but Rhaim was no zaddy anymore but more of a huge puppy by the end. 😒
*I totally skipped the Epilogue because there was no way I was going to allow myself to be more disappointed than I already am.

I listened to the audio while following along in a physical copy ...
Although I loved the magical aspect of this book, and it was so easy to read, I just could not get past the turn it took.
I do have to remind myself that this is YA, but I am thinking from a younger person reading this and being just as confused as I was. Maybe not 🤷🏽♀️
I did enjoy it for what it was though.

I was yet again not disappointed, not that I had any doubts in Lauren.
Wow!
I am so speechless after reading this ... and have so many questions after getting some answered.
I was not expecting some of these twists and turns in this one, and am just left with my jaw on the floor, scratching my damn head.
I am, yet again, scared to read the next, and this is only because I know it is the end.
P.S.: Lauren, please stop killing me 🥹

I loved both books 1 and 2 for different reasons.
Book 1 brought some insight into the Speed Demons group and most of the characters ... however, this one just touched my heart in different ways.
I loved this one because it showed 2 people that came together through loss and pain, but in the end? [Not gonna tell you!]
I just related so much to these characters, and I just love them! I also loved how we got to see the found family aspect in the group ... 1000x more than in book 1.
This is a must read for sure!

I listened to the audio while following in my physical copy ...
I love the rawness and realness in this one. It showcased the toxic environment one has not only in their family but also in a relationship.
I loved the messiness because some of us can relate this to a time in our lives.
At first, I was not too fond of the FMC, but I understood her. Can not immediately switch a way of thinking, especially if that is all you know.
The MMC obviously tried his hardest, and for one who related to his demeanor considering his own upbringing, I loved his character more than anyone else's.
I loved the twist in the book ... I was not expecting that at all. It made this story even more messy and realistic.
Definitely want to reread in the future to reevaluate some things, especially on how I feel about this in general.
