Gonna give this a middle 3/5. I didn’t hate it but it wasn’t at all what I was expecting. It kinda turned out to be a historical romance which was completely unexpected as I thought I was getting into a strange gothic horror? Not to say it was BAD but it just wasn’t what I wanted and the pacing was a little weird. For a book with vampires in the title there was a severe lack of them, the book is seriously just the MC’s pining for eachother! Anyway 3/5, read it if you like romance!!

All I can say right now after finishing the last line of this book is what the fuck...WHAT THE FUCK!

Listen I enjoyed the first book a lot, I gave it an easy 4 but this get a 5 for Hudson alone...morally grey sarky bad boy? Jaw on the floor

The writing and just general vibes in this series so far is so old teen paranormal and icl I'm living for it. Its what I loved about those growing up but without all the problematic 00's stuff like house of nigh and other older seires like that. Truly truly living for the nostalgia, this series is my new guilty pleasure for sure!

Anyway after the RIDE the last 100 pages of that book took me on im going to dieeeeee...my god

Sidenote: those bonus Hudson POV chapters gave me pure emotional damage

This was seriously one of the best books I’ve read in AGES, one of the best LGBT+ horror I’ve read for sure. I’m OBSESSED. I will be recommending this to literally everyone.

I genuinely love a good biblical demons and religious conflict plot line too so this was ICONIC! I always just find it so fascinating how people use religion to justify a myriad of things and when their own system comes back to bite them in the ass? Gorgeous, show stopping, incredible.

This was seriously just amazing, great horror, great gore, really vivid descriptions it was just ugh 5* easy.

No words, literally no words, this was a LOT (for lack of a better way to put it). This was strange in a way I loved, it was weird and slightly cryptic and read like almost poetry. It was crushing in a way that left me feeling empty, ah my Romeo and Juliet…

Despite me guessing quite a few twist plot points (which tbf I think adds to the writing as it’s like solving a mystery with little clues!!) i LOVED this sequel so much! I can’t wait for a third book. I had SO much fun with this, learning about new forest creatures, the Diana magic system, it was so cool. Can’t wait to visit hemlock falls again and see what Winnie gets up to next. PLUS that end chapter ahhhhhh no way!

Holy SHIT! Now THIS was my perfect book, weird otherworldly girls, missing children, being stalked by some weird supernatural creature, unexplained magic?? It was SO good! Truly so good. The writing was enchanting, the plot was so fucking weird in the best way and the pacing was honestly perfect! I loved how weird and gory and truly decaying this book felt. Absolutely going to pick up more from this author if she writes anymore  in this genre!

This wasn’t anything crazy but it was fun. I’m giving it 3* because I enjoyed myself as I do love a good “heist” story for lack of a better way of putting it but I wanted some more action! More drama! Idk it just felt like something was missing but I can’t put my finger on what??

Second year I’ve read Dracula daily! The community interaction and takes and theories really just up the original story to another level!! I will be reading literally every year if I can, truly such a good format for the novel.

This did NOT take the route I was expecting it to go...WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT! I LOVED IT BUT OH MY GOD CRUSHED

I'm utterly in awe of what I witnessed in the last 100 pages of this book WHAT THE FUCK?? I went into this a little apprehensive as I'm not usually a sci-fi girlie...but sc-fi with fantasy vibes IS MY THING NOW HOLY SHIT!  The lore and magic elements, the necromancy all mixed with the space/sci-fi setting was deeply appealing to me, I LOVED IT!

Gideon was a thrill of a character to read from, I truly enjoyed being in her head and getting her POV of this story, I love u forever my stupid space lesbian. I honestly do not know what to say to sum up the experience I had reading this, just know I adored the journey this took me on and I am forever changed.

“Laugh out loud feel good romance” is not the set of words I’d use to describe this book. I’d use something more like “uncomfortable, triggering and kinda disturbing thriller with a little romance sideplot” tbh.

I feel like the description of this book did not prepare me for what happened here. I really wanted to like this because of the premise like queer vampires? Love that! But this just felt off and uncomfortable. I’m all for MH rep but…there was absolutely 0 warning of what was gonna be in this book ANYWHERE. Chlöe’s constant suicidal ideation and intrusive thoughts, Angela’s acts of SH??? I did not expect to have that going into this book, I was not prepared at all. Like sure it’s relatable but I feel like this book was not marketed in a way that said it discussed such serious and heavy topics?? I wouldn’t have picked it up if I knew! So many things were weird and disturbing too like the amount of domestic abuse and lack of consent was not expected at all and def not “laugh out loud”.

I did read this entire thing because i was hoping it was just a bit heavy handed with the beginning but it just got weirder as it went. Like there was so much unexplainable weird shit in the plot too like the side characters and a lot of the supernatural world building kinda made no sense at all.

“Feel good” is the last way I’d describe this I just felt bad. Idk if I’m being too harsh but a warning on the contents in this book woulda been nice???
