⛔ The writing style was awful ⛔ I HATED Prince Kai - unlikable main love interest, his whole personality is that he's always shirtless. ⛔ The dialogue was horrible and didn't make sense half of the time ⛔ Info dumping trough dialogue - I hate that!
Flaws of characters a main focus? It's complicated

✅ The plot was interesting ✅ I really liked Will, for me there could have been more of him ✅ I liked the first part of the book the most, in the middle there was a lot of unnecessary rambling ✅ I really liked that Ayas magic affected her and that she showed physical signs of it, I wish this was explored more ✅ The characters overall were likeable ✅ I enjoyed the magic system, even though only three out of the ten classes were present in the book at all ✅ The romance was really sweet, I telly liked that it wasn't the center of attention in the first half of the book ✅ I enjoyed the slow burn very much 🔥 ✅ The dynamics between Aya and will were done very well. They look out for each other even though they "hate" each other. Aya saves Will a number of times and vice versa, often without thinking about it, that was really wholesome. I really enjoyed the build up and there relationship in general. Well done ❤️
⛔ There wasn't much worldbuilding , and the worldbuilding overall could have been better ⛔ All the classes and groupnames were really confusing, it took me a while to get into it ⛔ A lot of info dumping expecially in the first half, regarding the magic system ⛔ I suspected the end of the book pretty early on, so sadly the "plottwist" was not surprising at all ⛔ I wished he book explored it's themes a bit more and gave overall more insight into the political, social and religious structures ⛔ The Story arc of Aya traveling to the desert oasis ,and the whole plot line in the desert did not make sense. Nobody is able to get there, because the road is so dangerous everyone dies. Tell me why her travel is almost completely skipped and there is only a short paragraph of how she gets there so easy. It really bothered me. Don't tell me a path is so dangerous every one dies or fully commit to it and make it an interesting plot line. I really hated that part.
