Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare
3.0
Interesting but not as funny say as Much a do about nothing. I read this as apart of a challenge under ban book(In a U.S state) due to fake same sex relationships WTF did they not read it.
To me this play looks at Voila had to do to survive which is earn money to live. She dress up and pretends to be a boy. Falls in live with her employer who has hots for another woman. This woman likes the male version Voila more than her employer and trys to force her into marrage.
Like or Shakespare plays of this frivolity it all works out to end happy ever after.

The Bookshop by Penelope Fitzgerald

Start off well an got into the story quickly which is good for a short book. Some parts of the book did drag a bit. Would have liked a different ending for Florence but the end of the book was realistic. The damage to dreams small town community's can course. A warning to small business.
The Ghost by the Billabong by Jackie French
5.0
I love this saga even though I have read it out of order and still have to read books 3 and 4. Saying this each book can stand alone and there is enough in each book on other characters to do this. Mind you you it's hard to stop at one. The only small Grrr!!.. moment is saying that Honeysuckle not Parkes got the first fist signal from Apollo 11. Jackie French saying it hard to prove since the Honeysuckle records where thrown out and 'The Dish' may not be correct. I hate to say but Parkes Radio Telescope records still exist with the CSRIO and I have had work experience at the telescope. Use more than one resource. Now I have had my beef (or lamb read book for reference) that character development was fantastic and like with rest of saga the lead female character is someone everyone should look up to. Some plot points can be predicted some can't. One chapter brought me tears and I had to take a break to let emotions go. Again another book that has brought back memories of my life. Unsure if this is the last or if there is more but time will let us know. Please read you will not be disappointed.
Listening to Country: A Journey to the Heart of What It Means to Belong by Ros Moriarty

[b:Listening to Country|19218880|Listening to Country|Ros Moriarty|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1408937687s/19218880.jpg|15131462] is moving and important story that should be shared with everyone. I think it should be have to read for all Australians. The issues brought up in the book we should all take to heart if we do not want to loose any more of the Aboriginal culture (Australia's original culture) than colonization has caused through it's damage.
I like the way it was written too. In fact I found it easy as if the Ros and the women that she wrote about were standing or sitting by me and sharing their story through word of mouth. Ros doesn't just explore her life but that of her family and her husband John's people, the history of the people of the Gulf. The book is set out in away that we all should live in harmony of people, land and spirit. Thank you [a:Ros Moriarty|5387175|Ros Moriarty|https://s.gr-assets.com/assets/nophoto/user/u_50x66-632230dc9882b4352d753eedf9396530.png] for writing this.

Before the Devil Breaks You by Libba Bray
5.0
I did find that this book started slower than the previous 2 but after a while went back to it fast pace. The diviners back ground was explored a lot more especially Thea Knight and the more was found out about the secret project. The most frustrating thing was this book was suppose to be last of the series but to find out at the end there is a cliffhanger and another book is coming. Which was kinder interesting as it broke with they way the other books were written. The book also had its tear jerk moments and places where you just have to laugh. Worth reading.
Solo by Kwame Alexander, Mary Rand Hess

This is a wonderful exploration of Blade's solo through verse. The character development was fantastic and it brought the book to life. It was great dealing with the issues of growing up and finding yourself from the view of near adult young man. I had even start to listen to the music that is listed in the book and make it a mix on Spotify. Can't wait to read the second book.

The Lady's Guide to Petticoats and Piracy by Mackenzi Lee
5.0
Thank the heavens I was able my librsry manager got an advanced reads addition otherwise I don't think I could have waited. A great adventure with strong female characters. Felicity comes into her own and I find that I like her more in this book than the first. This book also looks at the following themes too: womens roles in 1700s, how explorers and scientists destroyed environments in the search of fame and fortune and drug use for medical on addiction. This was a fabulous read. Wonder if there is another book coming and if this time with Percy.
The Harp in the South by Ruth Park
4.0
Interesting look at another era in Australian history. I liked how the author brought you into the scene with her discription by describing it with all 5 senses. I would have like it to be more indepth with each famliy members thought and experience. I felt it was racing through the event a bit to quickly. Overall a good read.
Struberville: Consequences of Isolation by Monte Dwyer
4.0
Wow is all I can say. Due to the writing style Monte Dwyer this book is a real page turner and very hard to put down once you start. I was luck I got to meet Monte and got the book signed by him. This book looks at a murder in remote Northern Queensland and the trail verdict of the case. It was interesting reading about what it takes for a murder trail to take place in Australia and in particular Queensland. I say the jury got it right. I just can't imagine how the family is moving on from this (read the book to find out what I mean). This real story also looks into the communities and people that live in this remote environment. If I am ever thinking to take a gazetted road through a pastoral lease I am asking the locals first if it a good idea. Though think about it I will stick to the highways. I highly recommended this book to those that like real crime stories.
Longitude: The True Story of a Lone Genius Who Solved the Greatest Scientific Problem of His Time by Dava Sobel

A wonderful story of two thought to the one problem and the politics that try to stop the watch winning. Read this in memory of my grandpa.
