Not worth the hype fantasy elements are weak the sex parts near non existent. Character development only happens in second half of book but not much is achieved in this.

Very interesting exploration of tropes and theological ideas. This definitely pulled on the emotions as well as an epic end of times battles.

Prefect finishes to this sci-fi trilogy with it being a constant page turner no matter if it is battle scenes or the quiet dips in between. The YA humour is great with wonderful one lines that you feel like the main character is talking to you. The concepts explore and well explored in most cases maybe near the end the last one about the hearts was a not as fleshed out but it could say it is open to a spine off series to explore that more. Who know maybe Q does.

Not as strong as the last two books. It finishes well but not fantastic. More romance than fantasy but there a wonderful moments. Writing style flowing and the narrator is fabulous with the french parts.

Love the different layout of the book makes it quick to read and also drags you in to the world. As a horror snob it was brilliant that there is finally a YA horror the finish as I horror should finish so satisfying. The main character (Carly/Kaitlyn) are well developed and the book makes sure you are highly invested in these characters as well as the small group of secondary character though not as well define gives more mystery around the story. Wish there was a screen adaptation of this one.

Joan of Arc: The Story of Jehanne Darc by Lili Wilkinson

Interesting smd could not put down. But it is brief. Would have liked more detail. This maybe feels like it's aimed at a younger audience (those who like the Horrible Histories) bit language feels more older. With TV shows such as Kingdom of Thrones and Vikings more information on battles and other points of view would grab more audience. I feel the trail had more detail but the author used the transcripts mainly from there so that is unstable. Would like more on the journey and the seige of Orleeans.

Reason I read this was to extend my knowledge of Joan of Arc and to read something of Lili Wilkinson as she is our Book Week author.

What the FUUK?? The book version of abstract expressionism art that makes little sense to the reader. Bought the book because of the cover and blurb sound interesting but the book was hard going. Even so there was a few gem ideas and issues that it presented but just did not do justoce to. My guess is utopian fiction doesn't exist for it turns into dystopian fiction for every story needs a problem to solve. I dear those that pick up to finish reading it like me.

Interesting play that gets to the heart of what truly accorded and what witch trails were really about. Arthur Miller's notes on characters/people and what the really going on in Salem helps to highlight the hysteria that happened and is happening today, though this time not with witches but with people of different faiths.
