I struggled a little with the beginning but once I got past the initial misunderstanding this was very cute - gotta love a romance with good food/wine descriptions

really solid romance novel (and like lightyears better than the hallmark hannukah movies). it got a little schmoopy at the end and there were a couple of places where it felt like the author was soapboxing via a character, but those are my only complaints

I was waiting the whole book for Katie to have a realization that being gay means she's not trapped in this perfect straight girl image she's created (either by idk getting a dramatic haircut or by saying actually I look this way on purpose) and she did not get there. On Cassidy's side it felt like there were dropped character development threads - she didn't need to have an arc she just needed to find the One Girl that she'd want to stay for

Did not finish book. Stopped at 0%.
I didn't dislike this book and maybe I'll go back to it eventually, but while the worldbuilding was interesting, it just didn't have anything particularly compelling in it and I wasn't really enjoying reading it

One of those ya books that makes me say I'm too old for ya - everything felt like it was hitting me over the head
and I was waiting literally from the prologue for the reveal in the epilogue that the hundun were the good guys
