Plague by Michael Grant

I finally bought this book because it came out in paperback, which I wanted that format so I can have all of the series the same. I am so glad that I bought it and read it. But now I can’t wait for the next one.

This is the fifth book in the Gone series by Michael Grant, continuing the amazing sci-fi series! The characters are still facing all of the hardships that come with living in the FAYZ. The Darkness is trying to take control again, while the main characters still living in Perdido Beach are trying to stay alive. It seems that a horrible plague is spreading through all of the kids that are still there. Food and water are scarce as is the way of getting water. Everyone is scared.

Like I said in one of my progress updates above, it did a good job catching me up to what happened in the previous book since I had read it a long time ago. Sometimes book like this can become very confusing because of, first, all of the characters, and second, because the way that it changes to different points of view even throughout the same chapter. Not in one point of this book was I confused about what was going on. As a book towards the end of a series, I feel like it had just as much action and was just as good as the 3 preceding it. Normally second, third and fourth books of a series can’t live up to the first one, but this was definitely just as good, if not better!

I decided to review this Hunger Games instead of any of the others that I had gotten because I felt that this one was the best of them. This one was released after the movie was, and I can understand why because it had so many great pictures straight from the film itself. If you have seen the movie, but haven’t read the books, this is a great guide to read, as it fills you in on all of the main storyline of the first books. Even I, who obviously has read the book, thought that it was the perfect refresher of the series.

It takes you step by step through the process of the Hunger Games, and gives you great quality pictures from the movie that will help you visualize just what it is like to be Katniss!

I gave it a 5/5 stars for the great pictures and the wonderful summary that this guide to both the movie and book had to offer!

I wasn't sure what to expect of this book, and I'm not really a huge fan of historical fiction books, but I really enjoyed this as it had a little bit of paranormal romance in it. I'll be looking forward to reading other books by Heather Dixon.
