Second book I've read by YC and it was every bit as amazing as The Ghost Bride. Her writing is so poetic and this story was heartbreaking and compelling and I loved every word of it. I think this might be on of the first 5 stars I've given this year and it earned each star so many times over.

So I was not expecting this whole book to be a prequel, but I was so into it. I loved seeing how it all started and how Lia got to where she was in the start of the first book. It was heartbreaking to see her get to the point where she throws herself over finally at the end, but I understood her desperation.

I feel really bad for giving this the star I have. The only reason I can give is that I was looking forward to it so much for so long that when I actually read it, it wasn't what I expected. I have read similar books that felt like reciting poetry and I was hoping for something equally poetic for this book.

This was such a cute book and I think if I'd read this before I read Bride, I would have given it more stars but as Bride was much more my taste her writing felt better in that book than this one. The couple were still super sweet and I did really enjoy their story.

OMG I was not expecting the reason she put him to sleep for 2000 years to be that! That plot twist got me and I didn't see it coming at all. I really liked seeing them grow closer this book and reading about Selene coming to terms with her two lives and how they will shape her going forward. Her and Memnon were so good and the spice was on point! I give this book 4.5 stars and the only reason I don't give it 5 stars is that it felt a tiny bit like a filler book, I know there has to be another one. I really enjoyed reading it and couldn't put it down though because the writing was amazing!

This was fun! I will admit, I was very confused from that prologue though, no idea who fell and who got killed but I kind of put that out of my mind. I liked how in the dark the readers were along with Winter but with just those short chapters of Adrian I guessed the plot twist that got revealed at the end. Got to read on now just to find out what the hell the start was about.

RH is one of my favourite authors because her work sticks with me long after I've read them. This book feels slightly different to her others but it was still amazing. The plot was unique and the FMC and MMC were really well written and characterised. Their story together and apart really got to me and I loved the message of this book. Morally grey characters for the win!

This was such an enjoyable read, I preferred the first book but I like knowing what happened to her sister in this one.

This book started out really well, I was hooked and the characters where really interesting. But after about 70% through, I did start to lose interest as I was expecting a lot more angst with the trio and there was nothing. What made me read this in the first place was the synopsis that seemed to promise some sort of jealously, sneaking around the ex, confrontation... but no, it was all quite boring at the end and nothing really came out of them all working together. Bit of a disappointment.

I read the three musketeers years ago and I remember really enjoying the writing style of Dumas. True I did have the english translation so I wasn't 100% sure if it was the translation or Dumas but after reading this book I am certain it's just Dumas's brilliance. For how long this is (and it is so so long) I never got bored and I loved all the different parts of this story. It was incredible and as I own it on audiobook I can see myself listening again in the future, just as a little treat. Edmond Dante/The Count is so extra I loved him and totally supported his crazy and intricate revenge plan. I was pleasantly surprised when he ended up with Haydeé as I was rooting for her since we were introduced to her.
