Then Came You by Lisa Kleypas
4.0
Ahhh I think I'm firmly back in my historical romance era. After a few misses with this genre I finally picked up a Lisa Kleypas book again and this one is an old one (it was released the year I was born so...) but it was so so good. I forgot how good LK's writing is and I think the only choice I have left to do now is go back and read everything she has ever published. But now, onto the book... the characters we so mean and grumpy and I loved them immediately. His fell first and harder trope was done perfectly and the plot was really interesting as well, well paced and kept me reading until way too late each night. The only reason I cannot give this 5 stars is that it felt a bit too rushed at the end for a book well over 400 pages. I just expected a little bit more to it after she finally completed her goal, like the reactions from her family, especially as they didn't know her secret. But apart from that, I loved it.
Twenty Years After by Alexandre Dumas

I really really liked this book. I wasn't expecting to with the big time skip but I will say it was rather jarring to go from The Three Musketeers to Twenty Years after without reading the books set between the two. I might go back and read them at some point but after finishing this book, all I want to do is get onto the next one in the series. This one felt much more grown up than the first, like the silliness had been stripped from it, along with the characters youth. But the story was engaging and the new introductions were well written and I can't wait to read more about them in the next one.

This was a fun little adventure in the space of a day! It was cute and entertaining.
Winning the Wallflower by Eloisa James
I don't know why I didn't enjoy this one as much as the others but the plot just didn't grasp me.

This was such a cute novella, I really enjoyed both the main characters and the story was cute.
Meeting Thomas Cresswell by Kerri Maniscalco

Short and sweet, but it was nice to see his reaction to meeting AR for the first time.
Six Scorched Roses by Carissa Broadbent

I really enjoyed this novella and I liked that it gave a bit of insight to the human lands outside the House of Night and the other gods. I hope they are both in the next book, it seemed that way from the ending and I will be glad to read about them again.

Damn I didn't think I was going to give this 4 stars... until right at the end. God that ending was perfect and even though I really enjoyed the rest of the book, the end just made it all worth it for these stars. Give me angry girls and hopelessly in love boys any day and I will love it.

This was so cute. I like my books like these to be short but interesting and with some drama and angst and this was perfect. I really liked the other books in this series but they were quite long. This was perfect!
