I enjoyed this haunting historical fiction ghost story set right after World War I in an asylum for shell-shocked soldiers. It really showed how PTSD was viewed back then. The spookiness was well integrated with the men's natural fears. I thought it was done well. I did think the ending was a bit unrealistic.

There was a lot going on in this book. Four points of view to keep track of, and journal entries from 15 years past. It was fun to watch it all come together.

I appreciated certain aspects of this book, and I enjoyed learning more about the audio book industry. Romance is often a little too much for me because I don't buy into all of the happy coincidences. That's not the author's fault. It was, of course, a phenomenal narration.

I love a good book set at the circus and this one was full of dark plot twists that did not disappoint.

I liked the first one better. This book was okay, but it was all pretty predictable and there was not enough creative killing. Also, there was too much giggling on the audio book. It was annoying. I missed Sloan.

The story held my attention well. Some of the clues seemed obvious, but the final twist at the end was good. The story was neatly tied in a bow.

The author did a really good job building suspense and creating atmosphere and backstory. I would have liked some more questions answered, but I thought the ending was cool. Adam Lazarre-White is a fantastic narrator.

Medusa is one of my favorite characters in Greek mythology and her story intrigues me. This book told her story well and from an interesting perspective. While I would love to be able to look at people and turn them to stone, Medusa's life was no picnic.

The plot meandered a lot and there were many characters to keep up with. It may have been easier to read this book in print, but I enjoyed learning about Harlem's history and I appreciated Ray Carney's conundrum.

A lot of satire packed into one small book. I can see how this dark scenario could play out in real life. It is thought provoking and well done.
