"So her said to her, mind-to-mind, I love you, I feel in love with you in the depths of my soul and it's my soul that will find yours again in the next life."

I actually don't know where to go from here. This book completely recked me in the best way possible.  I'm not ready to stay goodbye to this characters so there better be another book because I honestly don't know how the story will be able to continue after the events that happened in this book. However I do feel like Tharion might have his own book, or at least a novella, after that last chapter. I don't know whether I am excited or not.

As much I loved the book, I did feel like there was some things that stopped me giving this book a five stars which is a shame. The writing and the world building is absolutely beautiful but at times the book did feel a little slow, like a lot of time they were in caves and during the time that Bryce was in the Prison with Nesta and Azriel there was so much information about the story of the Asteri that I just needed a moment and put the book down because I couldn't process it all. I still couldn't even tell you what really happened.

One thing that threw me off a lot was the shift between the different character's povs mid chapter. Sarah knows how to work multiple povs, all you need to is read Throne of Glass, but I felt like it didn't flow well in this book. There was one particular part that something important was happening with Bryce and then it would switch to Ithan or Tharion and completely throw me off.

"You're my home, Hunt. Our love spans across stars and worlds, remember? She smiled slightly. "I'll always find you."

Let's talk about characters. Lidia is easily my favourite character within in this book, if not my favourite, alongside Bryce, in this series. She is a badass and I will take no slander against her, ever. Her backstory was heartbreaking and the way she did everything for her sons. I was so excited when we got her own pov. She has my whole entire heart. Though having TWO KIDS was not on my bingo card.

Ruhn Danaan, the Crown Prince of the Valbaran Fae... yeah that's no more. He can do no wrong. Just like Lidia, I will accept no slander against him. When he gave up the crown for Bryce, I think I cried inside. I was so worried that he was possibly going to die because of what the Oracle said, I'm glad that it was just simply him and Byrce abolishing the crown.

As much I love Bryce and she is one of my favourites in the whole massverse I felt like she was a little out of character within House of Flame and Shadow. She had all of these secret plots and it worked for Aelin because that's the character she has always been but for Bryce not so much. Don't get me wrong, I did like it but when it was done so often, her character didn't feel the same anymore.

I struggled a lot with Tharion chapters the most, and sadly to say, Ithan's. I don't feel like Ithan's chapters really gave us anything, I didn't think that the Fendyr/Reaper was interesting which is a complete shame because I absolutely love his character in House of Sky and Breath and was so looking forward to reading more of his character in House of Flame and Shadow. However I am glad that he got to actually goodbye to Connor and got some resolution at the book by becoming the Prime. Do I see a potential mates with him and Perry? Also the elemental power with the snow. Does this mean another connection to the Throne of Glass, and more importantly Dorian.

Tharion didn't give me anything at all. Sarah really said how much can we make one character screw up. It felt as if every chapter of his was him making mistakes and terrible decisions one after the after. It's hard to keep track of who actually owns him now. Like where is his character progression? He had none without the entire series.

The side characters are okay, I almost felt like Declan, Flynn and Baxian weren't really needed. They didn't really do much, I can't even begin to tell you what Flynn did, at least Declan did some hacking. Don't even get me started on Fury and Juniper returning? There was no point, they came and they stayed in Avallen, it just wasn't enough. Sathia was only there to be part of the setup for the next book and Sigrid had no purpose, she was just there to further Ithan's character arc.

"Ruhn snarled, saying the words that he hadn't dared voice until now, "She is my mate, you fucker."

The absolute excitement that came over me when Ruhn finally admitted that him and Lidia were mates, I don't think you guys realise how much of a chokehold they have over me. Is it bad to say that I prefer them over Bryce and Hunt? I am not responsible for the demon that processed my body when I screamed when I read this scene. Let's be honest, every single one of their scenes had be squealing like a little girl. I do feel as though we were robbed of their romantic journey though a little and wished we had gotten more scenes of them two.

As much as I love Bryce and Hunt together, this book kinda let them down a little for me and I don't know why.

"Ithan turned. And there was Connor, as vibrant as he'd ever been in life, standing in the temple doorway."

This book really put me through the emotions. I wasn't expecting to cry but yet there I was. Like first you had almost crying about Lidia dying to screaming when the Autumn King and Morven dying then crying when Bryce died, having Jesba sacrifice herself to save Bryce and Bryce sees Danika, the pack and Lebabah? I fear this impacted me more than Rhysand 'dying' ngl.

"But Bryce began running again, hurtling through the cave. Back toward Nesta and Azriel. And prayed there was something left for her to save."

Is it just me or was anyone else a little disappointed about the crossover? We all thought that it was going to be a huge thing within in this book and before anyone says anything, yes I know it's a Crescent City book and not a A Court of Thorns and Roses book. I just felt like there could've been something more, you know? I was kinda hoping that maybe they could've gone to Midgard and helped even if it was only Nesta and Azriel. Also can we talk about Ember with Nesta? My heart. I firmly believe that Nesta and Bryce could be besties though.

I loved seeing Nesta and Azriel in action though, they both deserve five stars each, which is something I hadn't thought I would say about Nesta. I'm not that much of a Nesta stan even after A Court of Silver Flames but I really liked her in this. I think it was good that we saw her in a outsider's perspective so we have no prior judgement towards her character. I do feel like Nesta is going to have an important role within ACOTAR5 like she was given Gwydion/Starsword and she now has the eight-pointed star tattoo? The dynamic between Nesta and Azriel is incredible, I love their bond and seeing them in action together. I need more of that within ACOTAR5.

However the amount of references about Throne of Glass surrounding Lidia! "What are you?" Ace breathed. Still panting, blazing with fire, Lidia said, "An old bloodline," and got to her feet. It was Daybright, as Ruhn has seen her in his mind. She'd presented herself-her true self-to him all this time." Her flames!! Brannon!! The ring!! Are you really telling me that she isn't a descendant of rowaelin, like there's no way I am making this up. If this is the case then I'm really intrigued to read more about her story and how she come to be in Midgard.

"It had confirmed what Lidia had long guessed. Why she had named Brannon after the oldest legends from her family's bloodline: of a Fae King from another world, fire in his veins, who created stags with the power of flame to be his sacred guard."

So one theory I had was that Hunt had a connection to Thurr as there was so many references and comparisons but yet nothing was even said about this. Was it just a coincidence or was it just to throw us off and be shocked when the actual reveal of Hunt's heritage happened. I also called it regarding Azriel being connected to the Starborn because how else would he able to wield his knife.

So we all know that the Asteri was in the ACTOAR5 right, but surely the Asteri is the Valg in the Throne of Glass world? Did anyone notice the mention of the black collars: "The black crowns were collars in Hel," ... "Spells, crafted by the Asteri to enslave us. They are a binding, one the Asteri adapted to their next war-upon Midgard." like does this not scream the Valg?!

I totally forgot how similar Bryce/Danika's story is to Celaena/Nehamia are. Both Danika and Nehamia died leading Bryce and Celaena on the path to become the leaders they both needed to be.

Overall, I really enjoyed House of Flame and Shadow and liked how everything tied together. It makes more excited for what comes next, even if it's a marriage of connivence between Tharion and Sathia. Whatever Sarah J Maas writes, I will read regardless.

September, 2019.
I absolutely loved rereading A Court of Wings and Ruin. It was much better the second time round, especially the War. I was so hooked and I didn’t want to stop reading. Additionally, I still like Tamlin. Despite every hurtful thing he said and did, he truly is a good person. He does horrible things for the right thing. He did love Feyre but he was too blinded by that love to see what was happening and it’s sad. He needs to find happiness because he does deserve it.

Furthermore, Cassian and Nesta are mates and in love. I don’t care what anyone says. That is the truth.

May, 2017.
I FINALLY FINISHED (due to lack of reading time and revision) AND I'M SO HAPPY AND SAD.

THIS BOOK ABSOLUTELY WRECKED ME. Even though I had high expectations for this because of A Court of Mist and Fury, it didn't live up to the expectations as much.

Firstly can we just talk about the characters? Every single character has a increase of character development. Especially Feyre. From having such low self worth in the first book to an incredible character who has completely forgiven and grown to love herself. Yes, she is still flawed but who isn't? She makes some sketchy choices and it's constantly healing. Tamlin has definitely redeemed himself. I admit, I didn't like him as much in ACOMAF but I never doubted that he was a full blown villain and still had some humanity left inside him. If you disliked him in the second book then you'll grow to love him again.

Another thing is how each character shows a different way for being strong, especially on how each sacrificed themselves to save their family.

Secondly can we talk about the Weaver, the Bone Carver and the Suriel... NEVER GET OVER IT. I never thought I would be emotional over it. If you've read the book then would understand. Let's just leave it at that.

Thirdly can we talk about how much Maas included the LGBT+ and more diversity. There are several gay couples, a High Lord is either bisexual or pansexual and a major character who is gay. And let me tell you, the latter is someone you won't expect but had me smiling nevertheless.

Another thing is one of the last scenes - yes the scenes when my emotional state was high, when I knew it was coming, that the two people were alive but yet i still cried. This book had me on a ride of emotions, especially on the emotional scenes with the beloved characters and the stressful battles.

However even though there was more Lucien in this book, THERE WASN'T ENOUGH. I hope that there will be a book based on Lucien because I need more of him.

The ships... oh my god I can't explain. Nessian I want more, you guys are killing me. Moriel... *cries* can we not even talk about that.

Even though this book had weak and slow points, it was such a gripping book with characters that you love and wish was real.

Overall this book is one of favourites and I cannot wait to see what is next for these characters. Definitely recommend and a definite re-read.

August, 2019.
Honestly my love for this book hasn’t changed. It was just as amazing as the first time, if not better. I fell in love with the characters more than I already have and  certain parts had me screeching and screaming like a complete fangirl. A Court of Mist and Fury is still my absolute favourite book and I still highly recommend it.

June, 2016.
I SERIOUSLY CAN NOT WAIT TILL NEXT YEAR FOR THE THIRD BOOK!!! This is definitely one of my favourite books I've ever read. Also this book was so heartbreaking, beautiful and basically everything you want in a book (in my opinion)

I would highly recommend reading these books. This book has such beautiful writing, amazing plot twists, gripping scenes and romance that is to die for.

I love how this book is also about self-discovery. Feyre was broken, blaming herself of the death of the faeries, haunted by the horror she witnessed from Under the Mountain. Her character development was absolutely amazing. She grew to become a stronger, more determined person as while as being the brave and stubborn character we love.

Now, let's not forget about Rhysand. Definitely my favourite character in this series. I loved how in the beginning you thought he was bad for him only to prove you wrong. He literally broke my heart more than once when we got to truly know him. He stays as the mysterious dark high Lord, playful and shameless flirt but we discover a different side to him. One where Rhysand feels too much and is always doubting himself when it comes to the people he loves. Though, I could tell that I was going to love his character even he was first introduced.

SJM has done a fantastic job with the world building, it is definitely a world that I would love to be in - especially part of the night court.

However I am kinda sad with the fact that Lucien wasn't in there more. Lucien was my one of my favourite characters from the start. It was the type that you would automatically like. He still is one of my favourites even though I wish he would of done more for Feyre and didn't keep siding with Tamlin all the time. Lucien, however, is loyal to his high Lord no matter what so he could never betrayal Tamlin's trust but Lucien is still his own person. Though I'm still not giving up on him just yet, the same with Tamlin.

I don't know what it is with Tamlin, I don't hate him but I don't love him either. He could be such a good character if he just listened to Feyre in the first place.

But I'm so glad that Feyre and Rhysand happened, I was shipping that in the first book and I was so happy when that shipped had sailed. I was practically screaming with delight. I would go down with that ship. I mean come on guys, the mating bond and the way that he saw her in his dreams, I was by far done by that point. They are officially high on my otp list.

Also who else is shipping Nassian and Moriel? Because I definitely am.

this will contain thorny spoilers so be warned.

You murdered my friend,” the beast snarled. “Murdered him, skinned his corpse, sold it at the market, and then said he deserved it, and yet you have the nerve to question my generosity?”

I fell in love with this book even more after reading it the second time. I absolutely loved reading about my favorite characters the second time, and completely adored the universe Sarah J Maas created. I can't believe I missed the subtle hints and clues that was throughout this book. It was extremely well written and compelling. The world building is amazing, and it continues to get better and better. There was never really a dull or boring moment in this book. It had a steady rhythm to it, which made the book easy to read. Every single character intrigued me. Yes, even Amarantha. I only loathed two characters. Her and Dolores Umbridge. I understand why her hatred towards humans but I just can't get passed what she did to my poor babies.

"Kill a faerie, fall in love with a faerie, then be forced to kill a faerie to keep that love. It was brilliant and cruel, and she knew it.”

Feyre is still one of my favorite heroines, although she did remind me of Katniss Everdeen and she still doesn't compare to Aelin for me. And I don't know if that's because I'm purely basing it of this book and Aelin throughout the whole 7 books of Throne of Glass. But Feyre is such a badass. Despite everything her family put her through, she is still fierce and will protect everyone she loves. But she makes a lot of dumb and stupid decisions, just no. I honestly wish I could see her paintings because the way she captures art and descries it, is so beautiful. It makes me want to get my sketchbook out and draw. And I say draw for a reason. I can't paint.

Okay so after rereading this book, I completely fell in love with Tamlin again. I know everyone think he's a tool but I couldn't see it, despite knowing these facts and things he does in A Court of Mist and Fury. I truly believed that Tamlin actually did love and care for Feyre, he just had a funny way in showing it. Some part of me thinks that Sarah J Maas did him dirty, but then another part of me is glad because of Feysand relationship blossoming. I can't wait to see how my opinion of him changes within the next book.

Lucien is still my precious smol bean. I know I say this about characters a lot, but Lucien is truly one of them. If Rhysand was never a love interest for Feyre then I definitely wanted Lucien and Feyre together. They had so much chemistry that was beyond their friendship. I still don't understand why he gets so much hate because there's so many good qualities about him. He's compassionate, strong and honorable. I need him as a friend. He's a true friend to Feyre and will do so much for her, even if he suffers the consequences for it.

Okay, so everyone knows pretty much that Rhysand is my favorite character (alongside Lucien, of course). Like he's so dark and mysterious, what's not to love? He's cunning, cruel and complex but behind that mask, there is someone who is actually decent. Despite Sarah J Maas trying to make him a 'bad guy", it just made me love him more. I especially can't wait to see more of his shameless flirting.

"I stepped out of the shelter of my savior's arm and turned to thank him.
Standing before me was the most beautiful man I’d ever seen.”

Like I mention before, I truly believed that Tamlin loved Feyre. I don't believe that he would send Feyre away if he didn't care for her. If he was such a bad person, he would make her stay so she could die and it would all be rainbows and unicorns. Like, excuse me, someone please tell me he didn't care for her. In his own way, he was trying to protect her. Especially towards the end, with the whole scene between Tamlin/Feyre/Rhysand/Amarantha. People are hating him because he wasn't fighting for her but he was. He was pleading with Amarantha for Feyre. Rhysand has much more experience with fighting then Tamlin, and he knew it. It was only logical for Tamlin to use his words instead.

'Rhysand stared at me for long enough that I faced him.'
"Be glad of your human heart, Feyre. Pity those who don't feel anything at all.”

This is definitely one of my favorite books, so I would absolutely recommend it. However, it's not as jaw-dropping as A Court of Mist and Fury because holy hell, that book is my favorite book ever. Even though, Throne of Glass is my favorite book series, nothing can top ACOMAF. That book had left me in a book hangover for months. If you're a lover of retellings, faeries, magic, a totally dark handsome guy and a badass heroine then this is the book for you.

“Once upon a time, in a land long since burned to ash, there lived a young princess who loved her kingdom …”

Words can not describe my feelings right now. Kingdom of Ash was the perfect ending to a equally perfect series. Sarah J Maas has done it. She truly broke me. I have never cried over a book series ended, that's how much this series has impacted me. It was everything I wanted to see in the final book, it was utterly heartbreaking. This book had me in so much tears, it's unbelievable.

From here, spoilers will be mentioned, read at your own risk.

“Let’s make this a fight worthy of a song.”

The characters was once again epic. Each had grown more and more and developed into something remarkable, especially Aelin. She is by far my favorite character in the book and my all time favorite heroine. She is still the same assassin we say from Throne of Glass but so much more. She is a fighter throughout.

Dorian, my king. I'm so thankful that he didn't die. If Maas killed my beloved character that I would actually riot. I loved that Dorian could shape shift and helped win the war, not being a weak prince that everyone originally thought. However, I did wanted to see why his power was so raw. I don't know if it was just me, but I felt like Maas didn't showcase this enough.

Manon, my queen, deserves much better. All the pain she had to endure, tore my already broke heart into pieces. She deserves happiness and more. She needs more appreciation all together. However, what the hell was that reunion with Elide? Maas give me something better. She is the definitely the character that has developed the most. Going from a cold blooded killer to someone who can acknowledge her own feelings.

Aedion's character was a little annoying to me in Kingdom of Ash. I know death was literally on his doorstep but I wanted my sassy Aedion back.

Fenrys absolutely broke my heart. He stuck by Aelin in her darkest times, despite the blood-oath to Maeve. I'm so glad, Aelin saved him. Needless to say, everyone broke my heart.

I'm in love with Chaol even more. He let Yrene be the person she wanted, every  single time. He doesn't deserve all the hate. He deserves so much more.

Gavriel did not deserve that. I know that Sarah J Maas could save everyone but why? He reunited for one or two pages. Seriously? I badly wanted to see scenes between him and his son after the war. He didn't even get a proper goodbye with his son.

Neyrsn still felt like a fill-in character. Her POV was pointless and I didn't think they was necessary. They didn't actually add anything to the story. Don't get me wrong, she is a likable character and I was happy that she found happiness but I didn't practically care if she died or not.

Yrene, you masterpiece. To kill a Valg King whist pregnant! you legend.

Additionally, I felt like Maeve was going to get a redemption arc, should've of got one. I don't know why but I actually felt sorry for her in those moments in Morath. I truly believed that she was capable of changing. But, of course, that didn't happen.

“And far away, across the snow-covered mountains, on a barren plain before the ruins of a once-great city, a flower began to bloom.”

The only thing that annoyed was Nox Owen. He appeared for two pages and that's it. I wanted to see the reunion between him and Aelin, to see him join her court. Furthermore, I wanted to see more of him in general. What was the point in being him back if not having him be in the entire book. The late King of Adarlan made more of a appearance.

I know many people were crying with the Thirteen but I didn't. I loved the twelve witches that sacrificed themselves and yes I was sad for them but I was more upset over the fact that Abraxos nearly died.

“Do you know the story of the queen who walked through worlds?”

Can we just take a moment to remember that Aelin is only twenty years old and it plays out over a course of year... it's crazy. They have witnessed so much death and gone through so much trauma that it blows my mind. Sarah J Maas was amazing with this aspect. Aelin seemed so much older then she actually was and the series seemed like the beginning to the end was more than a one year course.

“Nameless is my price."

This quote was unbelievable. There was no way that I could of figured this plot out. Dorian's father name...this scene was so heartbreaking. I absolutely hated the King but when he saved Dorian and took his place, it actually had me in tears. To go through all those years without a name but to have remember it long enough to call your son that very name.

“Who do you wish to be?”

The brother bond between Chaol and Dorian was so precious. Even though Dorian no longer has a blood family, he has a family with Chaol. A brotherly bond that tears streaming down my face. Furthermore, that Dorian is an uncle to Chaol and Yrene's baby. Lets also appreciate that moment when they finally reunited and Chaol ran for his King, his brother.

“We come to honor a friend.”

One of my favourites scenes has to be when Elide galloped to save Lorcan. If that isn't true love then I don't know what is.

A better review will probably come when I can actually gather my thoughts and feelings. RIP me.

”you must enter where you fear to tread.”

CHARACTERS
CHAOL WESTFALL: chaol’s journey was so beautiful. i absolutely loved his character development. seeing him grow from resenting himself to someone who doesn’t feel the burden of what happened in his past anymore. as well as seeing him begin to love himself throughout the book.
YRENE TOWERS: one of my favourites. i loved seeing this character reappear from the novella. she is such an inspirational character who is filled with hope and light. i especially loved her dedication to healing and using what aelin taught her in the novella, holding onto the letter after all those years.
NERSYN: she is one of those characters that i liked but wasn’t someone i really cared about in the previous books. but i began to her character more whilst reading this book. i loved that she finds adventure and happiness. especially in a place where she feels truly accepted.

DISABILITY
i loved how Sarah J. Maas portrayed the disability aspect in this book. how you have to deal with emotional healing to begin with the physical healing. even when he began to progress with his spinal injury, the emotional pain was letting him down. furthermore, i loved how Sarah J. Maas didn’t make the recovery happen until the last quarter of the book. i felt like this made the healing process more realistic.

OTHER
HONOURABLE MENTIONS: dorian, aelin, rowan...how am i supposed to cope with this torture. i half expected one of these to appear in the book but i had to remind myself this is about chaol and they will be reunited in the seventh book.
DISLIKES: although i loved this book and is my favourite book i read this year, it still has a dislike. i found at times that it was slow and kind of dragging. some chapters were fillers and wasn’t really necessary to the story. furthermore, i thought the start was slow. i know it can’t be action packed from the beginning but it lacked something. but of course, considering this was originally meant to be a novella, i am amazed by how much detail was put into this novel and i still found myself wanting more.

the rest contains spoilers so if you haven’t read this book, i advise you not to read past this point.

THE SHIPS:
CHAOL&YRENE: okay so don’t get me started with these two. i was shipping them the moment they had their first argument. the only problem was i spoiled myself. all i wanted to know was whether the got together or not but to find out they’re married?! i was screaming. they are so cute together but they break my heart. if you didn’t cry when chaol stopped breathing and yrene made that deal to bring him back to life then you have no soul. the locket as well *sighs* why can’t Sarah J. Maas’ characters be real.
NERYSN&SARTAQ: what can i say? i ship it.

PLOT TWIST
MAEVE: okay, what? a valg queen? this plot twist though. i honestly didn’t expect this to happen. and now there is valg princes and princess? how is our beloved characters going to survive this. there is no way Sarah J. Maas will let any of our favourite characters survive.

I honestly want to cry, this was so much better than reading it the first time round. The book is a week away and I’m not ready to say goodbye to the beloved characters. If Aelin or any of her court dies then I will riot.

SOMEONE JUST GET ME THE NEXT BOOK ALREADY. HOW CAN I WAIT TILL NEXT YEAR FOR THE NEXT ONE, LIKE HOW?

This book literally destroyed. Sarah J Maas has done it once again. She had made me want to throw the book at the wall and cry until I couldn't possibly cried anymore and yes I did cry.

The ending of the book just had me in tears and wishing that I could re read this book all over again. No doubt that this book will have me in a book hangover.

Yes there are down sides. In parts I was confused and it seemed to drag in places but saying that, I was reading this book solid without any breaks. The other downside was that there was no Chaol. Saying that though, Chaol wasn't in the right mindset in Queen of Shadows so it made sense that he wasn't included in the book. But I have a feeling that he would be in the next book. Because of this reason, I was thinking of giving this book a 4.5 - 4.75 stars but guys, the ending completely changed it all. You could honestly not expect the ending in any way possible unless you spoil it for yourself.

One thing I didn't mind was all the different POVs. Yes it was confusing, some dragged and Aelin's POV isn't in the book as much as the others. But in the end, it makes total sense. She spends most of the story, making secret plans behind the scenes, while everyone else is annoyed at her for not including them in the plans.

Secondly, I would absoutley recommend reading The Assassin's Blade first as most locations and characters appear in this book.

Thirdly, Aelin's character development though. She is still the brave, determined, selfess and badass character that I love but yet she is more complex and mature and you can't help but love her character more and more with each other. Plus can we all appreciate that she brought back her Celaena persona. She is definitely one character that you do not want to mess with.

In fact, each character was grown so much since the first book. Not only with Dorain and Aelin but Manon, Aedion and Elide as well. Especially with Manon. She has been one of my favourites since she came into Heir of Fire and now she is pretty much top of my favourites, along with Aelin and Rowan.

Now let's have a moment to discuss ships. We all know by now that Aelin and Rowan would of stayed but my ship is happening. I so can't wait to see that Sarah J Maas does with the relationship between Dorian and Manon.

But honestly, you need to read this series because it just makes you want to cry, laugh and feel like you can relate to the characters in different ways. I just really need the next book now.

”but perhaps the monsters needed to look out for each other every now and then.”

Aelin is a true queen in my eyes. She’s gone from being selfish and only caring for herself before her court broke down her walls bit by bit and now she will gladly die for them. She’s still the same heroine we love but changed at the same time. Sarah J Maas has done a spectacular job with her character development. She is completely in control and is willing to risk everything for her kingdom. She has matured into this fearless person.

Manon Blackbeak is the best. She is finally making a stand against her grandmother, plotting alongside Aelin and helping her court. She is completely wicked in the most perfect way. She isn’t evil like all the witches are brought up to be. She has a heart and it just makes me love her more.

Nonetheless, we finally meet more kick-ass woman. Lysandra, Elide and Nerysn. All who is glorious and unique in their own way. Each has their own battles to deal with and overcome them. Who cares if they needed help along the way, they gladly accepted.

My poor Dorian. Even though I knew it happened, he still broke my heart. He’s so underrated and unappreciated. He was going through so pain and torture, just wanting to die until he finally broke free.

Chaol stayed true to himself, despite his reunion with Aelin. He is still loyal, selfish and protective. He won’t let Dorian go and it breaks my heart. Even after believing that he was no redemption for Dorian, he wouldn’t give up on him.

Aedion reminds me so much of Aelin. His sarcasm is the absolute best and undying loyalty for Aelins is astonishing. He had me tearing up and smiling at the same time.

Rowan, my love. His rare moments when his emotions won was so beautiful. Aelin brings out a completely different side of him and he continues to blow me away. I love his determination and his devotion.

’Aedion grinned at his queen as the entire world went to hell.’

The scene between Aelin and Manon was one of my favourites. Two badass woman fighting was magnificent. They were both powerful and deadly, you couldn’t know who would’ve won that fight. They bring an unpredictable dynamic that would truly make them a lethal pair.

The reunion between the original trio had me on a emotional rollercoaster. Dorian and Aelin’s magic together is deadly but amazing. They could literally shatter buildings together. Overall, the banter between Aelin and Aedion is more amazing than I could imagine. Their scenes had me grinning all the time.

’Aelin was laughing as she cried, and the male was just holding her, his hooded head buried in her neck. As if he were breathing her in.’

Sarah J Maas’ storytelling is honestly the best. You can’t help but get invested in this book, making you want to stay awake all night. The world is forever expanding and I’m so grateful and excited. The ending had be in tears. It was so lighthearted compared to the previous events, it was something we all needed.

Queen of Shadows is a rollercoaster. You have brilliant plot-twists, thrilling action moments and countless gut-wrenching moments. You would be a fool not to read it, especially if you love witches and demons.

”she was the heir of ash and fire, and she would bow to no one."

We see more of than the broken assassin who dwells on the death of her beloved and is relentlessly blaming herself. We now see a queen who is willing to have a thousand enemies constantly on her back then see a friend in pain. Her shields are falling apart and she is finally letting people in.

Her character development is phenomenal. We witness her transition into Celaena Sardothien, watch the darkness that was inside her from the night that changed her life. But she overcomes it. She is more determined and stronger, both physically and mentally. However Sarah J Maas keeps Celaena stubborn and snarky which I adore.

”I claim you, Rowan Whitethorn. I don’t care what you say and how much you protest. I claim you as my friend.”

I absolutely loved Rowan. He’s infuriating at times but I still love him. He can be scary and intense but is a big softie at heart. He’s protective and defies rules for Celaena, it honestly breaks my heart. They have such a special connection, a bond that is rare. Celaena can finally be herself around Rowan. No more barriers and no judgement. They are lethal warriors but a pair that would do anything for each other.

Dorian Havilliard is still the same person we love. He wins over your heart because of his bravery against his father. He took risks and suffered the consequences for it. After rereading it, I still wanted to throw my book at the wall. He is becoming a true king and it’s one of the best things in this book. He eventually finds happiness and moves on from the assassin. He gains support with his magic and is fighting his loneliness. He now has someone else to rely on.

Chaol Westfall. I love him to pieces but I grew irritated with him, especially in the next book. He’s unaccepting of Celaena and Dorian’s magic, especially not accepting of Celaena being a fae. The loyal Captain of the Guard keeps secrets for the sake of Dorian’s safety and freedom, though it doesn’t always turn out for the best.

Aedion Ashryver. Can I just live in the Throne of Glass universe? I’m in love with all the main guys in these books. Aedion is just like Celaena in many ways. He’s is daring and doesn’t care about anyone other than himself and Celaena. He’s has it all; the deadly smiles, the wild behaviour and the muscles. Who doesn’t love him?

Manon Blackbeak, heir of the Blackbeak coven and leader of the Thirteen, is ruthless. She is a bloodthirsty and wicked witch but I love her. Her encounters and silent dialogues with Abraxos are too die for. Manon starts believing that there’s a chance that she has a heart and it’s amazing. I love her character development in the next book. Abraxos reminds me so much of Toothless in ‘How To Train A Dragon.’

”because I am lost,” she whispered into the earth. “and I do not know the way.”

The atmosphere is definitely darker and more mature in the book. The pace is thrilling, having you on the edge of your seat with every near-death encounter. The world-building keeps getting better. I don’t know how Sarah J Maas can write such magnificent places.

Heir of Fire has everything. The comedy, the action-packed scenes, the plot twist and the tearjerkers.

”If they wanted Adarlan's Assassin, they'd get her. And Wyrd help them when she arrived.”

Honestly can’t explain my love for these books.

Celaena is a complete badass. She’s loves with all of her heart and cares deeply for those she loves and if anything stands in her way then all hell breaks loose. She is unpredictable and wild but still the same sarcastic and arrogant assassin I love. We finally see the ruthless killer and I was not disappointed. She’s no longer afraid to hide her true self around her friends. Chaol still remains one of my favourites. Even after rereading this, I never saw why many people disliked him. He’s made a very bad decision but feels extremely guilty and yet he still chooses to love Celaena after everything. My poor Dorian, you just wait. You’ll find happiness. I love Dorian to pieces. He’s so innocent but badass at the same time, especially after finding out he has magic — raw magic. Rereading this made me realise how much I actually liked Nehemia. She was the person who set everything in place and suffered the consequences. She was such a kind soul, even after keeping secrets. Let’s not forget the talking door knocker; Mort. He’s hilarious! I want him on my door.

Overall the character development was amazing. You see each character grow. From a sacrificial Captain of the Guard to a defiant Crown Prince who is beginning to stand up to his father.

”I want you to remember that it wouldn't have made any difference to me. It's never made any difference to me when it came to you. I'd still pick you. I'll always pick you.”

Crown of Midnight had it all; magic, adventure, romance, mystery, secrets and mind blowing fights. I would love to be in the Throne of Glass universe. I want to run with Chaol and Celaena every morning (more like watching shirtless Chaol run), explore in the tomb, I want to do everything. Sarah J Maas creates a spectacular universe with unexpected plot twists and perfect imagery.

”Why are you crying?"
"Because," she whispered, her voice shaking, "you remind me of what the world ought to be. What the world can be."

I so can’t wait to reread Heir of Fire, especially when Rowan comes in and the struggles that Celaena has to overcome. The world is going to get much deadlier and I honestly want to stay up all night reading.

I absolutely loved the relationships and friendships however in the book. Even though I love Celaena and Rowan, Celaena with the Crown Prince and the Captain of the Guard hold a special place in my heart. They was everything she needed and much more when coming out of the mines. Dorian and Celaena’s friendship is the kind of friendship I want. They protect each other, regardless of the price. They want to see each other happy and that is so cute.

”The rest of the world quieted into nothing. In that moment, after ten long years, Celaena looked at Chaol and realised she was home.”

I highly recommend this series, you won’t forget it. To me, it’s literally perfection.
