This was SO fun! Two best friends to lovers to husbands. Alex learned in High School he was attracted to boys more than girls & Caden loved his bestie but also liked sex with girls. Until Alex’s Vegas wedding was cancelled, they got drunk & got married themselves. While Alex was always in love with & loved Caden, C’s home life was always tumultuous due to his parents seeming to always be fighting so C was adamant he’d never marry. While on Alex’s honeymoon together C realizes a few pivotal things about himself & I really felt for his character having learned things about myself later in my adulthood. Listened via BookFunnel.

This was a beautiful surprise. Beautiful family for a young man who was thrown away by bigoted parents. Dustin cares for Quin so much & does it so well that I actually cried. D’s family immediate & extended are fantastic. Listened via Anyplay.

Omg the Helix clan just won’t quit! Not even after a peace treaty is signed 🙄🤦🏽‍♀️  Cy Pataki has been a bit of a quandary since book 1 & for all his bluster I knew that if he’d met his intended David more often well then this story wouldn’t have to be told in much detail. I’m glad the author didn’t choose to make Cy & David’s story a short one. I know the last book is Zayne’s story & man do I feel so sorry about his father using him as a chess piece though it’s another intended story so we’ll see how that plays out. As for Cy & David, I really enjoyed Cy’s infinite patience with David as he learned who he was & also loved when Cy finally yelled but it was bc David planned on leaving. Anyway, listened via Anyplay.

Well, every book in this trilogy is focused on a different couple, which is honestly okay & maybe best IMHO. Listened via Anyplay but it glitched out on the last chapter before the epilogue. Still got the gist of what happened & absolutely loved that the author thought it best for the dark forest once broken became a stunning garden. Honestly not interested in reading the 3rd book bc the older vampire is all sorts of proud & not in a good way, I think he needs not only an attitude check but a serious comeuppance either by his mate or because of something happening to him.

I enjoyed this & I’m glad there’s 2 more books to flesh out Cain & Jace’s relationship & story. We do leave this book with Jace needing to be bitten to stay alive, now I’m not certain how vampirism negates his other gifts from not only his parents but also by those who were left behind. Cain does mention that it will take time for Jace’s vampire gifts to appear. Listened via Anyplay.
