what an ending! and a definite beginning - im looking forward to reading the dreamer trilogy soon! my only issue with this is that i wanted more from some of the storylines and lore to fully wrap up the series. this is a rich universe, which is why there’s a whole other series, but i think more wouldnt have hurt this series.
this was such a fun read! extremely solid story and great characters, i loved the journey to our mcs went on, and the romance was so good. the dynamic of it is my fave!!!
oh this was DELIGHTFUL!! so funny, and really nails that balance between knowing what kids and adults will find funny, making it a real lasting comedy. also the illustrations!! my favourite part honestly, they’re so whimsical and lovely.

what a brilliant story! really unique and touching. the first third of this book was a bit of a slog, but getting past that was well worth it, and definitely had me captivated. this touches on a lot of really difficult stuff, but it’s all the more important for that.

im sad that this wasn’t as strong as the first book! it lacked the true horror that the first one did, as well as a strong narrative. owl was very boring and annoying, too, which made the chapters narrated by her difficult to read at times. while it was nice to get some answers, ultimately i wish this had gone in a different direction.

this was incredible!! such a rich sci-fi, tinged with the perfect amount of horror. i really loved getting to dive into this and i look forward to reading the sequel!

i really wanted to like this more! lacour’s prose was stunning as always, but i just couldn’t connect with any of the characters and i found the pacing to be off. i like the meaning of this, but it sadly just didn’t connect for me.
