Would read more by this author but the plot and character arch are not overly complex. Pleasant read a - a solid historical romance with the suffragette movement occurring in the margins.

I’d read more books by the author. Was hoping for some grittier drama ~ but there’s an awful lot of wholesome support by multiple characters so solid all around.
This is a fake dating romance and childhood crush to lovers romance. Fake dating is like the whole plot except for some issues between Ian and his dad.

Not terribly complicated and made for a comfortable night in. Had many LITERAL laugh out loud moments with a range of emotional depth and backstory. I’d read something else by this author and enjoyed the banter.
Can not believe the fade to black moment. I waited 344 pages of sexual tension and flirtation for a bath? With NO DETAILS? NOTHING? This was salt and pepper spiced.
Had to leave the rating lower than if I’d rated halfway through ~ the story was so well developed that the end just left me “wait that’s how you’re going to finish it?”
it’s just the mantra about being more than a night in July reworded for her empowerment BUT the last sentence is “I’m in love” ~ after such awesome dialogue the last 50 pages just feels like the author lost momentum on the project

Planning to keep reading ~ the story feels like it’s following a familiar archetype, but I’m a fan of any fem protagonist overcoming a series of trials on a journey of magical employment/coming of age/winning over the grumpy potential love interest.
