Nyleeria has lived through trauma and faces her toughest challenge yet. She discovers an ancient power in herself and has to navigate who to trust, who to love, and how to survive.

I really enjoyed this book. The FMC, Nyleeria, is spicy in a “what did you just say to me” sort of way that is fantastic! I enjoyed the world building and character development. I was captivated early on by the writing and plot. This didn’t disappoint. While I definitely questioned some of Nyleeria’s choices, she owned them and pulls herself up! I highly recommend reading this.

SHAEDES OF POWER is the first book in the 4-book Soul Magic Series.

This was a great read with humans, faeries and vampires. This was adventure-filled from the first page. Our FMC, Opal is forced to confront her own beliefs, her role in society, and even build friendships with those she never imagined. You also get to vastly different MMCs that are great, though Edmyn holds a special place in my heart - who doesn’t love a shadow daddy?! The world building was beautiful and the character development is great. This is a must-read if you like the following tropes:

Touch her and die
Found family
Enemies to lovers
Why choose
Fae + vampires
Spice
Dark romantasy

Creon is The Silent Death, the Mother’s most notorious weapon. Emelin is a human with powers she is forced to hide and shamed for. Emelin is taken hostage by The Silent Death but quickly learns things are not as they seem.

This was captivating from the first chapter and just got better from there!

The character development was incredible. The world building is incredible with magic, multiple species, war, cultural differences and beautiful descriptions. The pace was great, slowing at appropriate times to help build the story and move it forward.

This was a great read! I enjoyed the character development and the storyline. There were some great twists that I didn’t expect, which was nice. The Easter eggs throughout were amazing! I didn’t catch them all and had to reread a couple of times. I am looking forward to more from this author.

“There’s no taming a fae like the Silent Death …”

Emelin has escaped the Crimson Court and saved Creon from the Mother’s chains. But her newfound allies bring dangers of their own. Thrown into a world of old feuds and thorny grudges, she needs all her ingenuity to keep the Silent Death safe from his friends-turned-enemies.

And the political games of the Alliance are the easy part …

I couldn’t wait to read this one after devouring Court of Blood and Bindings. I love the banter between Emelin and Creon. I loved Emelin’s character development and we see her really start to step into her role as a badass FMC. I also love a good found family trope and this one didn’t disappoint. Can’t wait to devour the next one!

Forced to keep their love a secret from their closest allies, Emelin and Creon try to search for any clues to break the bindings that may be their best weapon against the Mother. I continue to love this story. The battles were great and I enjoyed learning more about the side characters and their backstories. The ending was fantastic and I can’t wait to dive into the next installment.

Overall, this was a good read and I will definitely read the next one. It was difficult to get into in the beginning and at times I felt a bit lost with all of the unexplained secrets. There were a lot of twists that kept things interesting. I enjoyed the banter between the main characters.

Another chance to get it right is filled with 9 short stories that are both heartwarming and heartbreaking. These stories are of hope and new beginnings, finding yourself and discovering who others are.

One of my favorite stories was Writing My World - a true story of loss, love and second chances.
