Ashes by Ilsa J. Bick
5.0
So I got this book last year and it's been on my TBR pile for a very long time and I think I might've found my fix for a new post-apocolyptic/Dystopian book and this book was so, so addictive why didn't I pick this up sooner it had vibes of "The Kill Order" and "Angelfall" in that I had a bloody hard time not wanting to putting it down every bloody chapter ended on a cliffhanger and that ending holy shit.
This book was a pleasant surprise to be honest and yes I'll be looking into more books by this author and I will be finishing this trilogy. It was so good.

Well that book ending broke me with the high chance of more inevitable deaths coming up in book three....Yay...
A fantastic sequel and yes this was yet another book I binge read and I don't even feel bad about it despite the fact that I lost sleep due to reading it but hey it was worth it and can I just say this reminded me of An Ember In The Ashes as the chapters constantly finished on a cliffhanger another page-turner and that's good for me but still I want to cry in the corner due to how the book ended.

So once again this was one of those books where I took my time with it between a few binge reading sessions but having finally finished this book I have to say I love how it ended yeah I'd be lying if I said this book was sad because it is but ends on a melancholy note but ultimately satisfying but this book never got boring though as like the previous two books something was always going needless to say I love how this book gave us a brief explanation before the prologue of each character's whereabouts I applaud Ilsa J Bick for this and sometimes books lack this and you know it helps learning the character's current situation and how they're coping.
Yes this is yet another beast of a book but you know despite the length of it everything wraps up nicely yes we have sad moments and all the other things you'd expect from a book but you know what it was done right and I can't ask for more then that.
I'm just sad to have to say good-bye to such a fantastic cast of characters it was fun and I shall re-read this trilogy again in the future it deserves another re-read.

Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins
5.0
Very few books have I had a moment of instant love with and well Rebel Belle was one of those books where from the moment I read the blurb and started reading I was in love with the writing and the main protagonist Harper Price the writing in Rebel Belle is very fast paced and there was never a dull moment also things pick up very quickly after Chapter one and Harper well there's a defining moment in Chapter two that I loved and how she handled the situation not going to spoil it but yeah basically Harper now has to protect the one person she has hated since kindergarden and the boy in question is David Stark and well once these two have no choice but to be together things get very entertaining and you'll be laughing seeing them both constantly try and deal with eachother and for once the girl has look after the boy a very nice change and I welcome it.
I shamelessly binge read this and I don't even feel bad about it as I love this book it has become a new favorite in such a short space of time and I'm going straight into Miss Mayhem.

Looking for Alaska by John Green
1.0
Changed my initial rating for this book from 3 stars to 1 having had time to rethink and unhaul this book yes I got rid of it and I have my reasons for doing so yeah frankly there was nothing interesting in this and the only saving grace was the book was short and it seems the author could do this book in two the first bit being the 'before' and the second part being the 'after' oh and that's meant to give you enough time to care about two rather flat and boring characters who are only written for the sake of making you get upset when one of them dies it's obvious who dies don't kid yourself this book has so much hype surrounding it honestly is better to avoid this one if you can.
The Wicked Will Rise by Danielle Paige
5.0
Tell you what this book was a amazing sequel it maybe short but the storyline gets straight to the point also we continue from where we left off in Dorothy Must Die but luckily Amy has succeed in two things she has the Tin Man's brain and the Lion's Courage I won't say she gets them but we see her struggle from time to about killing off certain characters and there is a case of where Amy and Dorothy do meet again and we see another side to Dorothy while seeing the Wizard again but of course things don't go to plan as Dorothy sees killing as the better option but Amy has accepted to be part of the Wicked and accept her fate.
Oh and Danielle Paige please say we get the final book next year I don't want to wait until 2017 to have closure on this trilogy.

Miss Mayhem by Rachel Hawkins

So I just powered through this had to know how it ended and well can I just say what the hell am I meant to do now...This final book Lady Renegades doesn't come out until 2016 and that sucks as I love these books.
Anyway that aside in Miss Mayhem we see Harper and David deal with numerous problems and see Harper come to terms with being a Paladin needless to say I think she's handled things so well oh and for once in a book it has the "I'm fine" situation and I completely understood that feeling and how she handled it well I probably would've done the same thing and yeah the fact that someone finally acknowledged that thank you because that's something that isn't touched on often.
I enjoyed this book but now I have a long wait for the final book needless to say I want to know how it all ends and I plan to re-read Rebel Belle and Miss Mayhem very soon while I wait for 2016 to hurry along and I can finally get my hands on the final book Lady Renegades.

Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige
5.0
I might be getting addicted to fairytale retellings and I was curious about Dorothy Must Die when I saw it when I was in Waterstones last month of course I'm going to get it and I tell you what I loved this story so much as the tables have turned the Wicked are the goodies and Dorothy is corrupt from power and magic and now Oz is in complete ruin due to Dorothy's hand.
Now we meet a new girl Kansas called Amy Gumm and she's taken to Oz the same way as Dorothy was but as we know this doesn't work out well for Amy...
Yeah I need the sequel now...And the short novellas ASAP.

Gathering Darkness: A Falling Kingdoms Novel by Morgan Rhodes
4.0
And things are starting to get interesting now still not hitting the 5 star mark yet but still I await the release of Frozen Tides after the ending of this I think I might be satisfied well a little anyway.
Here's a brief summery from the blurb:
Darkness has fallen upon Mytica, and the Golden Princess will be a prisoner no longer.
Cleo's forced marriage to prince Magnus ended in the gruesome decimation of Jonas's rebel army. Now, she vows to take control of her own destiny-even if it means being as cunning and deceitful as greedy King Gaius, who stole her father's throne.
Princess Lucia's powers are growing stronger by the day and, much to Gaius's delight, the magic of the Kindred feels closer then ever, Out of nowhere, Alexius, a handsome stranger from Lucia's dreams, arrives at the palace, promising that he knows the secret to unlocking the sorceress's full potential. Gaius is convinced that Alexius holds the key to unlocking the godlike force of the ancient elements. But Magnus doesn't trust this intruder for a minute. In times as dark as these, he of all people knows not to trust even the most angelic of faces.
But the King of Blood is not the only one in pursuit of total domination. Two beautiful and cunning royals from across the Silver Sea have come to Mytica with a plan to take in much more then the local culture. The race is to recover the Kindred. Whoever wins will control the fate of Mytica...but fate can be fickle when magic is involved.
So that's basically what's going down in Mytica in Gathering Darkness but hey we got introduced to some new characters and at least I was curious to see how it would end but hey it ended in a interesting way to say the least.
But I've caught up with the series so I'm ready to dive into Frozen Tides when it comes shame it won't be out for a while.

Frostfire by Amanda Hocking
5.0
Well after reading "The Darkest Part of the Forest" and being highly disappointed with it I was cautious of what to expect with "Frostfire" being in the same genre after all but I was pleasantly surprised and I now look forward to reading "Ice Kissed" next month.
I also want to back and read the entire "Trylle Series" now as they have been sitting on my TBR pile for a while now but since it's set in the same world I should have no problems getting to them.
